Do you get insecurities about your appearance when looking at your idols?

Yes, quite a lot actually. And the gender never really matters. I use them a lot as weight loss motivation to be honest.

Usually it's easier to motivate myself when I see average people around me getting toned. Idols probably have access to an infinite amount of ways to quickly and consistently stay in the shape they want with tonics, diets, trainers, carboxy therapy, etc. more than what the average person has access to, so I find it unrealistic to look up to them.

Same thing with hair and appearance. It is their /job/ to look good, so of course they will get the best treatments, most skillful surgeries, etc. Their management pays /them/ to do these things rather than the other way around. I actually feel better about myself on the account that I can look good without going to extremes, so it's a confidence boost, I guess?

The only time I feel insecure is when I see people with no obligation to appearance still manage to look good, even if they lead busy lives. ಥ__ಥ like, please have a flaw, just one.

I mean I don't get depressed over it, it's more just inspiration. In the end, they're people with human bodies so it's definitely possible a normal person to look like them.. But it is probably easier when someone forces you to do lose weight and sets you on a strict regimen like with idols.

As for hair/makeup, I get inspiration from them too. Obviously I won't be able to recreate some of the more complicated looks, but a lot of it is definitely plausible for a normal person to do if they put in some effort/time. But in the end, I know it's their job to look good and I'll never look as good as they do. In some ways it gives me some kind of twisted hope that a person could look that beautiful as long as they put in enough effort and money.
