RubberDuckyTai 2,731
It would seem that in exploring this site for the first time, this is where I ended up. cx I'm pretty new. I had considered making a thread where I could show my work, and update things, but I didn't know if I could do that. cx Well, so here is some of my stuff? I started realism really not too long ago, so some things can be off and need refs. But you know. xD The life of a self taught artist. Something I'm sure a lot of you feel. xD I dunno what I'm doing. Don't kill me. xD EDIT*: I feel compelled to say that I snagged some of these off of my deviant art account. xD Just in case. xD First Chalk Pastel drawing of a person I've ever done, and first time doing a person traditionally in color. Hate the hand. xD Just a Mechanical pencil, my finger, one of those weird graphite stick thingies, and white out where I fuqed up. xD This is a WIP Lee Joon, First time drawing an elbow like that. cx To be honest, most to all of my drawings are experimentation. Whether it is a nose or a new hair style. xD Then I have a whole bunch of digital work, but I'm kinda feeling too lazy. ^^" Dunno if I was allowed to post this much, but er... ^^" The first color one is lovely. White out is your friend. I use it as a professional, so...lmao
If you don't mind constructive criticism, with the Joon drawing. Clean his face a bit, it looks muffled. Also, smooth out the muscles, it has a lot of sharp edges. :)
For having started realism not too long ago, you're doing great. *two thumbs up*
RubberDuckyTai 2,731
I finished something (okay, more like finished latest pencil practice)...the photo sucks and took away a lot of the details and gradients/blending. There are also more than 5 things I can spot wrong with it. I think a lot of us in here have become quite lazy with our art. I haven't had time to do much lately, I'm sad about it. Looking forward to seeing more of your work. :) Edited May 15, 2015 by RubberDuckyTai
RubberDuckyTai 2,731
Worked on something today. I've been working on these custom pair of shoes for around 6 months. I feel so bad for the person that ordered them, but he's super understanding. https://instagram.com/p/2uMcq1DwLR/ And then this was a good 15 minutes of my time. My nephew asked me for it, I quickly picked up black canvas and did it for him. https://instagram.com/p/2uNFLKDwMg/ Edited May 16, 2015 by RubberDuckyTai
RubberDuckyTai 2,731
Recent art piece: https://instagram.com/p/1i3qmVm_5N/ I really want to have an art career that takes off in the future, but I don't draw much. I have to stop being so lazy, and stop being discouraged when you can't do stuff like shading or drawing realistically as good as someone else. But in the art industry, how can I stand out? Anyways, hope you guys/girls like it. This is good. Very well balanced. Don't worry about shading and such, this comes with practice and is sometimes not even needed, depending on your style or the style asked for you to portray. If you want a career in art, you really need to choose what you want to do in art. So many things to choose from, you want to concentrate on those things that will benefit you and your career. It is only then that you'll find what is needed to "stand out," among an already saturated field. Also, keep your eye on working for a company and not freelance. I went straight to freelance and it's not easy at all. I've spent many sleepless nights and months without pay. There's also a lack of benefits from working freelance. I ended up also getting a teaching certificate and also working as a professional photographer for a large company just to make ends meet. I don't regret it, but I know that life is not for everyone. RubberDuckyTai 2,731
Hi. I'm new to this site and thread XD Nice to meet you all. haha Well... I want to start my introduction off with my Favourite FanArt 😆 Digitally Drawnhttps://instagram.com/p/043h88OJeA/ Welcome...we're all kind of lazy in here, but every once in a while we post things. LOL This is lovely. I have no patience for digital work (even though my major in college asked for digital work, haha). Good on you. :) ********* I started a thing...she looks okay.https://instagram.com/p/3lrZdPDwGP/ Also finished a thing...it's okay as well. I can spot 10004477592002 things I could fix, but I've already delivered them to their rightful owner.https://instagram.com/p/3E0oRpjwFf/https://instagram.com/p/3ALljBjwKH/ Edited June 13, 2015 by RubberDuckyTai
RubberDuckyTai 2,731
/Only discovered this thread now... I might just become a regular. Anyways, currently working on Mino. That hair gave me some real headache, I tell you. Love it. I always leave the hair for last and then half-a** it. It's a really big fault that I have. LOL I haven't worked on anything in a while. My whole pencil practice idea fell through. I haven't picked up a pencil in months. Oops!
