RubberDuckyTai 2,731
yeah hahaha that's what I'm saying - I know there's more to it :~) and ahh okie then I've procrastinated so much these holidays. 4 days left. 420 page book to read. oil painting to start/do. lots of study and catch up to do with nearly all of my subjects... nearly 4-5 pages of writing or more to do for some assignments. aggghhhhh I wish I could rewind back to the beginning again. Better get started! No sleep! Actually, I can't judge...I've been lazy and somehow have to finish shoe commissions before the weekend is over. Not gonna make it, but I'll try. *cries*
RubberDuckyTai 2,731
I'm not even gonna bother posting the speedpaint here /also posting the smaller version so the mistakes aren't as obvious It looks good though. Where are the mistakes? looks good Alicia... I'm a victim of that too :hurr: so I have two days left of holidays now. I began to do stuff. some stuff. You're doing this in oil, right? Can't wait to see the finished product. I started drawing Tao, because it's almost his birthday. And I didn't draw for 2 weeks. His eyes still look a little bit weird... Keep playing with that left eye, I think that's what looks a bit off.
RubberDuckyTai 2,731
oils till the day I die! did this just before. update:

I like oils, my lungs just cannot take the smell though. It's acrylics and watercolor til the day I die, for me! :) It's looking really good. Did you decide on no skulls mounted on the wall? I think it looks pretty :) Cherry blossoms are the best! :)
RubberDuckyTai 2,731
ahhh I see. I love the smell of them as well as the smell of turpentine. :hurr: and yep! painting anotherskull? pssshhhh Yeah. it's not that I don't like the smell, I've chronic asthma so the smells triggers that crap faster than I can say "smell." LOL...okay, so no more skulls (take the challennnnnnge, don't be lazyyyyyyy!...just kidding). Did this whole thing in 2 hours nonstop which I can safely say I haven't done in AGES I didn't center it because I'm artsy fartsy like that. I like the off center. It looks good, especially for 2 hours worth of work. :)
RubberDuckyTai 2,731
Not sure as to why I'm deciding to share this here, but I have a French final and tried to make portraits with words filling out the body to signify how the words we've used have come to define the body. My project specifically talks about the female body. I'm highly considering deleting the left side, since I can't explain it so well in my project. But this will be a printed poster, which is kinda exciting, but expensive. OTL Pretty big, so >.<

Oh...that looks really good. Good luck tomorrow! So...I've been trying to meet a deadline, but as always I procrastinated. I spent countless hours today, trying to catch up. Now I've strained my eyes so much that even a freakin blood vessel has burst and the eye lid on my left eye is swollen and red. Yep...love my life as a freelance artist. LOL
RubberDuckyTai 2,731
Your blood vessel burst?!?!!? TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF PLEASE omfg how does that happen hahahaha sorry hope it heals asap :) Ha! Thanks, it's okay. I'm taking care of myself...kind of. LOL! I get burst blood vessels more times than I'd like to admit to it. Most people get them because of a hard sneeze or heavy lifting and such...Me? I cough my way through these things. LOL! My left eye has a life of its own... I finished the darn shoes though!! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!! Shipped them early today. Done! Done done done!! But now I have to start a new commission! *ugly sobbing* Well, here I go again! RubberDuckyTai 2,731
Bursted blood vessels?! :wth: :horror: That be some scary shit. It's not painful, so I didn't notice until I looked in a mirror. LOL! I think it might have happened when I scratched my eye earlier in the day. I was tired and scratched it rather harshly. Oops! RubberDuckyTai 2,731
Not sure if any of you are interested. The Sketchbook Project is freakin amazing...I've participated in several of these and their wonderful when you need inspiration or just want some time to doodle. RubberDuckyTai 2,731
Looks like shit but this was literally an all day process and by 1am I was just over it >.< Ah! I wish I had patience for hair. But I really, really don't. I'm working on it though. I also don't have the patience to work large scale when it comes to graphite. So I make the tiniest pencil drawings. LOL It looks really good. Yay for graphite drawings!
RubberDuckyTai 2,731
I've never had patience with hair, and I probably never will. OTL I just don't understand how you can make tiny pencil drawings. Like I can't work small scale and still make it look good and detailed. Well, they're really not that tiny...Around 3inx5in, maybe a bit smaller? But way smaller than the scale you work at. LOL I find it extremely easy to add detail to tiny drawings though, you don't have to worry about it looking perfect since most people won't catch it. Haha! So, I've been lazy and I'm still working on this mess of a pencil practice... http://instagram.com/p/n6GcFtDwEB/ And I started on new shoe commission... http://instagram.com/p/oMrQtZjwMd/
RubberDuckyTai 2,731
Hi guys. I wonder if these would look better lighter? What do you mean by lighter? Wasn't Kida's hair white in the movie? But the movie itself was a bit dark colored, right? I haven't watched it since it first came out.
RubberDuckyTai 2,731
blehhhhhhhh. This is great. Nice and smooth, I always end up giving oils super texture, not sure why...Is he sitting on something or just hanging out while leaning against the wall? RubberDuckyTai 2,731
train sketch http://instagram.com/p/pLUyNVN22d/ This one is lovely. I have been busy trying to keep with deadlines. I have to ship some shoes tomorrow and still have a long way to go before finishing. And I'm procrastinating at the moment, because...because I can. I also spent time at the hospital, when I came back the meds make me dizzy so I can't get crap done...But eventually I'll post something on here again. In the meantime. Have any of you watched this short?! It's beautiful! Traditional animation at its finest (trumping 3-D animation since forever, I don't care what anyone else thinks...Haha!). Glen Keane is a Disney animator and legend. :) http://youtu.be/sjDATjkOOPI
RubberDuckyTai 2,731
Long time no visit. All art shared is super cute. Um...I've been lazy, but I finished a pencil practice drawing and started a new one. So yeah...here you go... http://instagram.com/p/q6ncUVjwGD/ http://instagram.com/p/q_o0V-DwNU/ I also finally decided to paint my own TOMS since I keep being bombarded by commissions, these have taken forever to paint. But basically, I went with some of my fave graffiti artists. Front is Jean Michel Basquiat, sides are Banksy and Warhol, back is Haring. :) Not finished yet, of course. http://instagram.com/p/qNZhjEjwKe/ http://instagram.com/p/qU_cQojwOC/ http://instagram.com/p/rF9ZNtjwM0/ Edited August 22, 2014 by RubberDuckyTai
RubberDuckyTai 2,731
Finally got to uploading some of my printmaking stuff. Beware the shittiness of it all.
My blocks after some printing. We had to use four blocks. My end product The block of my second project. Decided to sorta step it up this time around. lol >.< This was the result of some handprinting, which required a lot of patience and figuring out. Got tedious and exhausting. Rubbed that thing to no end. But I've still got to make two more copies, so I have to stop by the art store this weekend, tomorrow probably, and finish it up, so that I can get on to the third project. to be continued.... pray for my grade in this class tbh.
First time doing prints? LOLThese are good. Only thing I can comment on is for you to make sure your lines are clear. The second design is really pretty, but the girl's torso fades when you make the print. Make her lines more visible and varied. Sorry if I don't make sense, I'm tired. But these are not as bad as you think they are! They're really good starts! RubberDuckyTai 2,731
Oh, hai... Look at this place waking up again. I have nothing to show because I've been sick for like 3 months. LOL...I shall start to paint again soon and then I'll post something.
RubberDuckyTai 2,731
I totally understand. Especially when you study in arts; even at home or on the bus, everytime is a good time to advace your projects, or think of an upcoming one (at least that's what my teachers used to say). I've studied arts so I know how demanding the program actually is. Currently I'm only working (saving money for an illustration course) so I guess I do have more free time lol. And yeah, once you get used to it, it's really fun! Too bad my creative spree is over, I have no idea what to draw next. :| Gonna need some inspiration. Anyways, I'm looking forward to see your next works and projects, and that goes for everyone. Thank you! Also I'm curious, are most people here art/graphic design students? I think everyone is except me. I'm a freelance artist and art teacher. :)

RubberDuckyTai 2,731
It's been a while...haven't drawn, painted or even held a pencil or paintbrush in 3 months. Ah, sometimes being sick really does suck... Today, I picked up a pencil and started pencil practice again. It looks....eh. http://instagram.com/p/vJUnVjDwGm/
RubberDuckyTai 2,731
i think it's great! especially for being gone for so long It's done...still working small. My hands are a bit shaky (due to meds), buy I was beyond excited to be able to draw again. Haha! RubberDuckyTai 2,731
Wow, that's great! :ahmagah: It's my dream job, being able to do what I like for a living. I saw your stuff, it's amazing. I especially like your touch with pencils. What grade do you teach? I like your art. The watercolour is lookin' good. Also, here's a thing I did today.

Thanks!! I don't recommend going freelance without having a back-up plan. The field is saturated and it can leave you without a paycheck for months. No benefits, either. I teach all grade levels (I do online/homeschool teaching). And that moon does not look amused with chubby cat on top! LOL! Ermm idk what the last finished thing I posted was. But here's a NSFW stupid sketch I did yesterday (I cropped it because reasons............)

I was trying to get more practice with bodies. I know there's mistakes, but it's been a LONG time. OTL And my friend wanted a vid of me doing the line art because I always skip showing that step so I never acquired the patience of doing everything digital. All 4 years of college had be doing line work and sketches by hand, scanning them, and then coloring using digital media (which I also hated). Thus, I admire your patience and work. :)
RubberDuckyTai 2,731
^It's big, but not messy!! I like it! ****** Keeping this thread going...I made something...or another...you know... The usual pencil practice: http://instagram.com/p/va8bzuDwCk/ And, I finally finished my personal custom TOMS. My new med make my hands shake and my head/thoughts blurry (making it difficult to hold a paint brush), but I managed to finish these! http://instagram.com/p/vyLYlYjwDu/ http://instagram.com/p/vyMtl2jwK-/ Edited November 27, 2014 by RubberDuckyTai
RubberDuckyTai 2,731
@Ducky - As I commented (IIRC), those shoes are so cool. So buying some blank canvas shoes and trying something these holidays. Hope you're doing okay! - @Alecia - Did you not back up everything?!? Or did something happen to your computer? - So, I got them printed!

:~) - I'm also now on holidays. Today was the assembly/awards ceremony for my year group. I got the top student award for two subjects, one being art. I didn't get it the last semester due to my theory work, but I got it this time. Was a surprise, haha. So, selfie.

I got 86% for the painting I did. Hopefully I can smash 90% next year. Ah!! Thanks, I saw the comment. :) Have fun painting your shoes!! Once you paint one pair, you'll end up wanting to paint more and more. I'm doing okay. I've this weird syndrome called Burning Tongue/Mouth Syndrome. There's no cure, but the meds to help ease the pain and symptoms make me feel stupid. I'm getting on it though. I'm learning to just work with my stupified stated of mind. And congrats on your awards!!
RubberDuckyTai 2,731
I did some revisiting of older pics I did years ago and decided to share 'em. Old pics

New pics

Sorry. They're fairly big. >.< You've definitely improved over the years. :) I started back up with my pencil practice, yesterday... OMG, excuse the size...it's obnoxiously large. Edited February 23, 2015 by RubberDuckyTai
