So this is a discussion that pops up from time to time in the J-Turd. Pretty much everyone acknowledges that if there was going to be a new queen, it would be Nishino Kana. But there have been some voices saying it is really Kyary Pamyu Pamyu. What do you think?

Kana Nishino is on her way down while Kyary has been going up up up since her debut. Plus you know...Kyary is the messiah who will save us from haters and will leads us on the true path of love and kawaiiness

*looks at Sayonara v. Mottai Night Land on the digital charts*

Kana, she's the second coming of Ayumi Hamasaki.

BLASPHEMY!!! GET ON YOUR KNEES AND BEG FOR FORGIVENESS FROM THE ONCE AND FUTURE GODDESS OF JAPAN!!!!

Seriously, aside from the "omg, a guy with a camera, better look surprised in my pink lovely surroundings with my mouth hanging open"-photoshoots, there are no further similarities. Ayumi has better vocals, she's not a one trick pony, her songs have more variety, her longevity is better, her production is better...Kana is a hopeless, desperate wannabe at best.

At this point Kana is kind of stagnant, maybe on the downturn; while Kyary is kinda going up, and other than her newest song her digital sales have been some of the best this year.

But I prefer Kana much more and I am rooting for her so hard. At least her digital sales are still good, Sayonara did better than expected so hopefully she may be on her way back up without anyone realizing it.

Everyone sees that she's the new Ayu pretty much. I would say Kana is better vocally. She does lack the creativity of Ayu though.

Namie Amuro will write an album all by herself, Utada will come out as a lesbian and Ayumi will reveal that all this time she was a man before Kana Nishino will be recognized as a J-Pop Queen. I actually think Itano Tomomi has a better chance than Kana, at least Tomomi has the ability to have variety in her songs and image.
