Yea I actually hope TH wakes up and stop being manipulated. I feel bad seeing him being used so much. Yes the writers are following history. SN did become power hungry which caused a rift between her and the Emperor.

I hope the writers can end this story well. Now however I dont know how I want it to end. :/

I feel like the true villian in EK is SN herself.

The clothes change also shows the change in herself.

I don't know why but SN is probably the first HJW character that I don't like.

Tahwan should really wake up. Just because he loves her, doesn't give her the right to use him endlessly.

I predict the rift between them won't be that SN become power hungry but rather that he sees her with WY and goes nuts.

I predict WY and SN will probably have those lovely moments from now on.

And I bet at the end WY asks SN to run away with him. She will turn him down but feels the regret thus the tears.

I seriously hope you're wrong ! Please, writers, listen to your viewers. Most of us want SN&TH not SN&WY guh !  :._.:  :>_>:

I really liked her until the last episodes and I don't want to hate her. Please !!!

The only thing that saves the show for me

Awww.  :ahmagah:  :chu:

I didn't watch episode 38, I'll wait the subs (it will be out by tomorrow, the morning for me).

But the future doesn't look that bright for us TaNyang shippers. And if SN keeps being such a huge biatch, I want Tahwan to be alone rather than with her. After all he went through, he deserves to find his happiness. And it's not fair to him if SN is just playing the happiness and is grieving for someone else.

Well, I think it'll end well since during her coronation, TH is still in love with her. As for SN, I hope she loves TH the most, if not, my shipper heart will be broken forever  :._.:

Funny how we all are starting to get annoyed with SN and the plot while SN-WY shippers are starting to like it again..

I know TH still loves her that is what breaks my heart. She is probably just using him. I actually dont want them to end up together bc I feel like he deserves someone who truly loves him. She is turning on TT and BY who helped her so much. My TH-SN ship sank already  :._.:

I actually think she is using WY too. But if WY-SN shippers feel better by thinking she is doing it out of her feelings for him by all means go down with that ship. I think at this point SN only cares about herself and her son.

I also feel like SN is the true villian. I think the drama shows her beginnings, how she became like that, how she gained power, and hopefully her downfall.

I dont think WY-SN will have too many lovely moments. She is too power hungry at this point I dont think she even cares too much about him. I think maybe she will betray WY put the blame on him. Thus her tears for her regret.

I want TH to wake up soon but I dont think it will happen until the very end. He is being manipulated by everyone.

I was rooting for her to get revenge. But the last episodes have shown a different side of her.  :._.:

I dont like her anymore.

Off topic but LOL I just realized HJW is always working with Hyun Bin's closest friends.

Before she worked with Hyun Bin, she was known to be a good friend of Jang Dong Gun + attended his wedding which Hyun Bin also attended.

Then she worked with Hyun Bin in one of the most successful dramas in SK and internationally. They still contact each other and are really close friends.

A couple of months ago she said that she would like to work with Ha Jung Woo for her next project and boom Ha Jung Woo and she will play a couple in her next movie. He is also the director of the movie so he might have demand/agreed that she should be in the movie. And Ha Jung Woo is known to be a really close friend of Hyun Bin.

The funniest thing is that Joo Jin Mo, Jang Dong Gun and Hyun Bin are close buddies.

LOL HJW is getting all the close friends of Hyun Bin for some reason.

IKR. But I actually think you're right because SN is a villain in History and the writers already distorted the story sooo much. I just hope they won't butcher too much TaNyang ship.

I saw some screencaps on Tumblr. SN has a new hairstyle and new style of dresses, did she get promoted ? (she looks so scary here)

F***, I just checked on Wiki and saw this :

Genre : Romance, historical, action, melodrama

We're doomed.  :fyeah:  :>_>:  :._.:

Now I think she'll rise as the new ET and fall and after TH's death disappear in a monastery maybe (since it's the tradition when an Emperor dies) to grief and get some forgiveness from Buddha. Let's be real, Bayan can't be as great as ET, only Nyang can. *sigh* I really loved her, that character topped Ha Ji Won's Hwang Jini in my heart  :donthinkso:

She looked really scary (evil) during this episode.

Yea I think writers are likely to follow history with her character. But I hope we dont see TH die in this drama  :horror:

I am hoping for her downfall and happy ending for baby Emperor. In the end, I was always more attached to TH than any other character. I wanted him to succeed. My TH-SN ship is due to TH love for her and their chemistry. But  :._.:

They were also rumored for a long time to be dating but honestly I doubt it. I feel like Ha Ji Won is the type to date once or twice in a life lol. Maybe because she did more than 35 dramas and movies and is a total workholic ?

Anyway, if she's dating someone, I feel like it's an unexpected actor maybe less known than her or younger.  :stare:

She looked scary the entire time in this episode.

The only time she didn't look like that was when she was with her son.

The scriptwriters messes the plot tbh.

They turned her "evil" way too fast. Like in episode 36/37 she cared so much for her family and Tahwan ( when she was in the Cold Palace, crying and hugging him) and now she is like idgaf anymore.

They can not justify that by a single speech of ET

Actually, I loved them equally but together, I loved them even more.. I'll still stick to SN even if she's evil because I actually think you need to do bad things to realize beautiful things. History proved us that. As long as she doesn't betray Koryeo like in History...  :._.:

Props to HJW, the fact that most of us are side-eyeing her right now show her great acting !

They were the best couple ever. I really wished them to be dating. She is in the age of marriage and he aswell.

But yeah it seems like they are best buddies rather than lovers.

They are my OTP since 2010. I really hope that they work together again. The scriptwriter of Secret Garden (the same one from "A Gentleman's Dignity" and "The Heirs")confirmed her new drama which will probably air next year. Filming will start in second half of the year (around December maybe). No actors or actresses confirmed. I hope Hyun Bin and Ha Ji Won can reunite for that drama. The synopsis of that drama sounds really promising!!

And Hyun Bin is younger than her :har:

Ha Ji Won Queen. As always I love her acting. I started watching bc of her but baby Emperor. I became more attached to TH throughout the story.

Anyways, even thought I dont like this turn I am now more intrigued in knowing what will happen since the ending seems more up in the air. If TT, TH, and Golta survive this drama I will be happy. Well as long as the ending is good and it makes sense.

I dont know how they will finish in ~11 episodes. I feel that so much needs to happen. This may be good, since dramas usually feel like they are dragging on towards the end. However, this turn of events makes it seems like there are not enough episodes to resolve this issue.

I read somewhere that the new Empress will be here for ~8 episodes. Does that mean around episode 46 we will see Empress Ki coronation? If she keeps on this track, I would assume the last episodes would be on her downfall (?) if there is a turn of events I dont know what else could happen.

Off topic but Ha Ji Won seriously looks young. With bangs, she looks like she's in her early twenties and without in her late twenties.  :derp:

As for Secret Garden's scriptwriter, while I truly enjoyed that drama, there were a few things in it which disturbed me such as Hyun Bin's character stalking HJW's character....

But eh, the plot and the realistic end was great. But when I see her last drama, *shivers* Heirs.. I've no words. I read her new drama will be a human blockbuster, hope she won't stick any chaebols in it, it's getting annoying. I'll like a HJW-HB reunion but I'll not hope too much (or if they reunite one day, it'll likely be in a movie...) because it's quite rare for Korean actors to play as love interests twice or more. (I can only name Jang Nara & Choi Daniel who played in School 2013 - but they weren't love interests... but ok- and Baby-faced Beauty, Song Hye Kyo & Kim Nam Gil in drama Shark and movie Pirates and also Jung Jihyun and Kim Soo Hyun in The Thieves and YWCFTS). I just hope those two return to dramaland soon. Kmovies >>>> Kdramas in terms of quality but oddly, I still prefer kdramas over kmovies, maybe it has something to do with the length ?

There still the possibilty of an extension... I hope they'll not mess up the plot in order to finish it in time.  :._.:

I trust in your writer-nim !!!!

But why are you doubting of Kolta's survival, so random

i haven't caught up....still on ep 25-ish but i like spoilers so i'm lurking

reading your comments =P

wow...idk if i like the way the writers are going with this..?

the drama seems to be all over the place now and even though

the emperor's character is the most popular they still find a way to in the end lower him

and bring down his character, they're headed in that direction again.

and although i love TH-SN and wish there was more love

it's kinda cool that they're making the female protagonist so evil~

they just have to do it right, with good timing so the audience can appreciate it

instead of just straight out hating SN, being confused, and stop watching you know?

Mte. I skip all his parts now. I hope his plot will somehow get better now.everything is over.

And he'll soon get his throne back. BTW I wonder what will happen to the SN-WY couple. Didn't he leave Yuan when she get crowned ? Or maybe he just came back for her coronation ?

OK, I'll create this thread, wait a bit !

Doubt it about the drama but a movie of him will soon hit the theater. I think he'll film a movie instead (even though I prefer dramas over movies because of the length).

IKR. That's a bit scary..  :derp:

I hope to see no more of the WY-SN couple but from what you guys are talking about I sadly think they are going to at least form some sort of connection again :/

Sorry for the late reply.

Yes, there wasn't a JCW badge yet so I have chosen a picture and the award team made one.

I hope you guys are satisfied with the picture I have chosen.

I love the picture you chose. :) He looks very cute!

You guys are making me super pessimistic about the episodes I haven't watched yet LOL (I am reading your spoilers because I can't help but spoil myself  :derp:  :derp: )

I feel like as the show goes on SN is loosing who she was. I feel like she is succumbing to the greed and power of being in the palace and it's making her different. What scares me most about her is that we don't know her true feelings most of the time because we rarely get insight on what she's thinking.

I honestly feel like that scene in the first episode will happen before the last episode and then everything will go downward from there.  :donthinkso:

I also honestly feel like when SN was a palace maid in the palace she was developing some genuine feelings for TH but after she lost her baby and her friends her whole personality changed. I still see those feelings but I see a lot of manipulation on her part and that doesn't make me happy.  -_- His love for her is so pure; if he finds out that she's been using him since she became a consort I honestly think that's going to break him.  :._.:

I feel like her personality has taken a complete 180. I haven't watched episodes 36-38 but I feel like she and the whole show is only going to go to a darker place in the coming episodes.

What is the synopsis? I am curious. I really loved Secret Garden. I think they have great chemistry.

The star writer of Secret Garden, A Gentleman’s Dignity, and Heirs will be back with a new “human melodrama†for SBS, which means SBS is probably already counting their chickens (or moneys) since writer Kim Eun-sook is pretty much a sure thing for them in terms of ratings. Love or hate her dramas, they still have a way of tapping into the zeitgeist and becoming pop-culture phenomena, kicking off trends, catchphrases, and jokes that linger after the shows are long off the air.

The new drama is titled Descended From the Sun, and the producers aren’t even trying to be modest: “It’ll be a human melodrama on a blockbuster scale, the likes of which have not been seen in Korean dramas before.†Yes, keep those expectations realistic. To be fair, it does have some hefty support behind it; the drama will be the first television series planned by film production company Barunson, which has produced a number of notable films, including The Good, The Bad, The Weird and Mother. It’ll be co-producing with drama production house Hwa & Dam Pictures (Heirs, Secret Garden). Kim Eun-sook will not be the sole writer, either, as she joins forces with Kim Won-seok, who penned the well-received drama Queen’s Classroom last year.

Descended From the Sun will feature a love story between two leads who throw themselves into disaster areas to save lives; the drama will depict their sacrifices in desperate situations and show as they bond and grow to care for each other. In a very notable change from Kim’s prior works, this drama will be entirely pre-produced—something I could have sworn Kim Eun-sook said she’d never do, because she’s known for thriving in the live-shoot system. Well, if anything I’ll be hoping for Descended From the Sun to be a big success in order to prove that pre-productions CAN make it in this industry (a statement that’s been hard to stand by given the bevy of pre-produced failures littering dramaland)—and if Kim Eun-sook can change her mind and embrace a production environment that allows for more editing, shooting, and sleeping time, then maybe there’s hope for the system overall.

Descended From the Sun will begin production later this year, which includes overseas location shoots, and will broadcast on SBS in early 2015.

My thoughts exactly. I just hope they'll execute it nicely even though I'm starting to doubt it. Hope they won't recreate the mess that was "Yawang". The female lead was sooo messily evil (but it still was a hit... Ajummas like evil women lol)

Yeah, I feel like the loss of her baby stole her joy and her cheerful side. She's tired of hiding, surviving and want to kill now lol. I think she'll truly go evil just like ET but in the end will finally open her eyes and see what she has done. Now, I'm seriously wondering how TT can stay by her side with her forgetting him that fast...

Thanks! ^^

hmm idk how I feel about it I will wait until more info (teaser trailer maybe :P )

I'm personally skeptic. I hope she set up her writing and the flop that was Heirs in its first part (before Secret ends) woke up Kim Eun Sook. I like her writing style but her dramas are more and more garbage. From Lovers in Paris, City Hall, Secret Garden to Heirs... Stahp.

He is currently playing a King in the "King's Wrath".

There is no love line for him there. It's more of a historical/fighting movie.

He should carefully choose his next drama. Maybe that's why he took a movie instead of a drama. The risk of getting a bad drama script is high especially when the public expects too much after his success with SG.

South Korea wants the HJW and Hyun Bin pairing so bad. Like they would be the next power couple after Jang Dong Gun and Go So Young.

Seriously HJW is in the age of getting married and having children. All the other celebrity women around her age are married/have children.

Go Soo Young, Kim Hee Sun and Jun Ji Hyun for example.

The only hope for my OTP is basically this:

"In 2009, it was announced that Go So Young and actor Jang Dong Gun have been dating since 2008. The two met on the set of their film, Love Wind Love Song, and were friends for many years before they started dating. They were married on May 2nd, 2010."

Maybe the same can happen for HJW and Hyun Bin

/delulu end

What is the synopsis? I am curious. I really loved Secret Garden. I think they have great chemistry.

Ok I will hope for this ^^

When you see the episode you will see its kind of a misunderstanding of her part. She does something kind of shady putting BY against her. Then she believes BY and TT shouldnt be trusted and starts to plan on how to get more power (become an empress)

But even without the misunderstanding her actions were kind of suspicious.

Someone already posted it for you :)

Just checked on Wiki and saw that those two played in the movie "Daddy Long Legs" in 2005, except HJW was the second lead and HB the main lead. :(

I hope so, they matched well. I definitely see them topping Lee Na Young and Won Bin. If it's not Hyun Bin, then I'll accept it if she marries someone like Gong Yoo at least.. But if Dispatch catch those two, I'll be sooo happy  :chu:

Can I just say way off subject that I watched the first episode of Secret Garden a year ago and didn't really like it but the way you guys are talking about it and HJW with Hyunbin makes me want to give it a second shot.  :)  :)

I just watched the scene of BA's niece coming into the palace on youtube and can I laugh at how unimpressed TH looked?

Wasn't it the other way around?

Ha Ji Won was the main cast and he was just lead?

They have so many connections. Choosing similar dramas, having couple things and taking the same cf's at some point.

I always admired how HJW is dealing with her private life. As far as I know she had zero dating scandals/ public relationships.

If it was revealed that HJW and Hyun Bin are dating in real life, the blast that this will cause. You will she the amazing upvotes on netizenbuzz when that happens haha

You def should. I even rewatched it this weekend. The feels that this drama gives me.

The main and the supporting cast was superb.

And Hyun Bin looks really good as Kim Joo Won.
