I was away from the internet for a few days and so much happened!

I CAN'T BELIEVE SLAYON POP HIT NUMBER ONE ON MELON even if it was only for a few hours I'm so so so so so happy 

I'm kind of upset about the delay of japanese promotions though.. I REALLY want to see Arisa

 

In relation to Japan, my understanding is they're still going to perform at some of the scheduled events but leave full promotion until later this year (around November). As far as I know they have a double performance in Shin Okubo tomorrow and another on the 19th of this month.

You had me wondering for a second when I read that, particularly since there's no letter Q in Korean.

 

Curiosity got the better of me so I tracked down the post (unsurprisingly on reddit) and it seems to be about the hangul ã…„ which transliterates to bs/ps. It's a bit of a stretch to extract that meaning from the letters QT. I doubt many Koreans would read toRl as meaning b*stard (The letters used on an English keyboard to spell ìƒˆë¼ when Korean text input is enabled.)

The idea that Chrome (who had to basically be petitioned by fans for a physical release of Bar Bar Bar due to the costs involved) would have the money to manipulate all the music charts in Korea for a month and a half is nothing short of insanity.

 

Crayon Pop released Bing Bing, Saturday Night and Dancing Queen without making any real impact on the charts, Bing Bing was promoted a second time but it still didn't take off. Are we going to suggest that Chrome are so rich that they managed to manipulate the charts to keep Crayon Pop's first three songs off them as part of their marketing master plan? Obviously the only way to do this would be to buy every other song on release tens of thousands of times in order to ensure Crayon Pop didn't chart...

 

If Chrome has that kind of financial power we can expect to see hostile takeover bids for SM, YG and JYP before the end of the year. 

 

 

 

Well, either that or Bar Bar Bar is a hit.

AKP have also run an article entitled "10 Addicting Dance Covers of Crayon Pop's Viral 'Bar Bar Bar'" today. I remember reading features like this about Wonder Girls' Tell Me back when I got into K-Pop first, it's pretty cool seeing it in relation to Crayon Pop now!
