Crayon Pop (크레용팝) Official Thread

Honestly, I'm excluding the noise marketing angle and looking at it from the other side.

The timing of this is very suspicious... right as they're making their first (proper) comeback since Dancing Queen. It's almost like somebody or some particular element is trying to damage them for whatever reasons.

The 'scandal' involving the girls is logically a non event - in the context of what was being tweeted, it doesn't make sense for their words to be interpreted in any sort of negative manner. As for the CEO tweet, I have reason to believe that that may have been made back around March. So, it's just been sitting there offending nobody and drawing no attention for what? about 100 days - only to be brought up now as proof of something...

And all that ignores the fact that the netizen who broke this scandal would surely have to be a regular Ilbe reader themselves, otherwise they wouldn't be able to identify the slang used there and accuse somebody of using it.

I'd prefer to see this all blow over asap, the only positive is they've had the same amount of views in 2 days on a practice video as Skarf have had in 3 weeks on their latest MV.

If I could hit reset on this weekend right now, I would tbh.

Same. But we can't.

So as a fandom, we have to support them the best way we can. I can't say this diminished my love for Crayon Pop. If anything, it strengthened it. I want them to succeed so hard and I really hope they can...although it's going to be harder now.

My fear is going to be with the university festivals, the army festivals (that one especially) and the guerrilla concerts. I just hope they can still do those. If they can't, I fear for their future tbh.

Maybe I am wrong, but that chart is only for the voting part of their ranking system. I think that Mnet ranking system includes many other variables.

I remember when Sexy Love was first in that chart but T-ara did not win in the following week.

But anyway, it is great to see the girls in that position in the polling chart.

Well the fact that they are #4 in voting is amazing enough.

Welcome aboard, it's been a while!! :)

I tried being active across the Crayon Pop threads but as this one is the busiest these days, I post here most often. I'm probably going to hold a grudge against the timing of the other site's 'update' for quite some time.  :unimpressed:

Still, onwards and upwards - just like Crayon Pop!

This Japanese youtube channel is posting short Crayon Pop clips pretty much every day, so rather than spam up the thread with daily updates I'll just link the channel here. They already have about 15 videos up.

Is this going to be like a documentary in full at some time?

God I love them. It's been so amazing to start following this group last year when they were just starting their on the street performances and having to blast their name to people. I remember when they were just happy that someone knew who they were...to go from that to actually being a viable rookie nugu group with a growing fanbase and popuarility. It's surreal and amazing. Glad I stuck with this group.

^ Tbh, it's like a dream. I started with this group relatively early so I remember them being continuously paid dust by music shows and by the KPOP community at all. I think us small collection always knew they were a gem but it was difficult to have them taken seriously as a group for a long time. This is actually a talented group of girls and their choreo, wacky as it is, is forever on point.

Even now, I think there will be a set of people who will never take them seriously but that's fine. I'm just happy that they are starting to become a trend. They deserve it after all of the hard work and grinding they've done in the past year.
