How do you think 2014 will be for rookies?

Companies already stopped debuting as much anyway. Anyone from nugu companies will flop.

2014 will be the year YG, JYP debut new groups right? They should fare decently if the company is smart. IDK if SM is debuting the new girl group soon tho.

Well considering that almost every other company is slated to debut a girl group, and the fact that there's some hype surrounding the ones we already know about, I predict girl groups will do better even if it's not by a lot. There may or may not be a few standout boy group debuts, like always.

I don't think it's going to be a particularly special year for debuts though.

these past few years has been utterly disappointing with the rookies and despite the boy boy band rookie wave from last year i was still not impressed.

honestly at this point as long as we can get some YG girl group to debut in 2014 i'll be happy otherwise.....let's just say i hope next year's idols will at least be better then this years.

Apart from the groups from stablished companies or those with popular artist most will struggle and disband rapidly. The market is already over saturated with idols and even those from the companies mentioned beforehand will still struggle, I mean look at AoA, BTOB, Hello Venus, AJAX, Tasty, JB project mid level attention, low popularity(EXO and BAP being the exceptions) but nothing too reassuring.

I think that out of all of the up and coming debutees the YG girls have a better chance but the rest will have to struggle

for male groups, they will still do 'fine' for rookie standard

I just can't believe group like BTS even sold more than 15k on Hanteo when they have little difference from BAP,it proves as long as there are guys with dicks, they would have a decent following

Korean fangirls never get tired of boy groups

for girl groups, they need to wish for some luck like Crayon Pop to have a breakthrough hit

Korean public stop caring all the rookie girl groups since 2011,and that hasn't changed in 2012 and 2013

I see hype surrounding YG and JYP girl groups even before debut, but I am not sure that they would have a smooth debut like 2NE1 and miss A had in the past

If SM debut a new girl group next year, they should be most successful one, based on the success of all their other idol groups

Looking at how 2013 had few debuts compared to the last few years, I'm guessing it's either gonna have more or about the same as 2013.

Groups will continue debuting with a hip hop concept.

2014 will be the year for bigger companies to finally debut their groups (if they don't delay even more).

JYP's year to shine if they keep with their plan.

I don't think SM's new gg is debuting til 2015/2016.

Maybe not 2016, but I still think it'll be 2015.

There's been absolutely no news on them so I have a hard time seeing it happen in the next 13 months.

I wouldn't mind if they debuted in 2014 though.
