The Big 3 In Q1 Of 2016

Q1 means January to March.. Its a new year! and Its time to look at what these 3 companies you either hate to love or love to hate had to offer! We finally got a Lee Hi comeback after 3 years! and we also got new projects from SM and JYP [sM Station & JYP Duet Match]

 

SM had a really good start to the year.. they are trying to focus more on digital sales and releases compared to previous years

  • Wendy x Eric Nam [spring Love] ~ Digital Single [March 4th 2016]
  • Yoona x 10cm [DSW] ~ Digital Single [March 11th 2016]
  • Jonghyun x Heritage [R&R] ~ Digital Single [March 18th 2016]

YG had a really solid start of 2016 in terms of quality.. they finally gave me Lee Hi with a really great album .. I love World Tour & Official.. and Winner gave me Pricked which is one of my favorite songs of the year

JYP had a really slow start to 2016 with the mess that happened with China.. but they also gave us an amazing album for DAY6 and a Jo Kwon solo comeback .. and GOT7 came back with their best concept yet!

Overall I feel like all 3 companies did really well.. I liked alot of the songs released.. but its been really slow so far.. I feel like all 3 companies are working on something big soon.. I can't wait for the summer.. its gonna be lit!

I'd have to say either SM or JYP the only released I like from YG was Lee Hi...

We can hate SM all we want for practically enslaving their artists but we have to admit that they are the top company for a reason. They know what they're doing and they do it extremely well. They're always churning out new projects like it's nothing.

SM has really upped their game imo, and this Station thing sounded stupid at first but it's delivered some really nice releases. 

 

JYP are gonna do that collab thing + Twice is having a comeback soon, so I'm excited to see how things develop for them.

 

DAY6's new mini is great but I'm 100% not surprised 

 

Overall I'd have to give to SM so far though

Taeyeon has really put herself out there for the last few months.

 

We've had I + Don't Forget + That song with Verbal Jint (forgot it's name...woops) + Rain + comeback this month with possibly full album. Like damn she is coming for that top on gallup unless IU has another comeback (girl pls don't. Let my faves shine a bit).

SM really impressed me this year. They are just one step ahead of everyone. I really loved Taeyeon's featurings + single this year along with Yoona's Station Song and obviously my fave, The Velvet!

It's a tie between SM and YG for me. I liked more from SM but they did release more stuff and Lee Hi's is currently my favourite from this quarter, edging out Taemin a little. Do OSTs count?
