Infinite Challenge's “I Got C� ceased online sales because of plagiarism issues

Hip-hop producer Primary’s “I Got C,†comedian Park Myung-soo’s participating tune for the recent song festival of MBC’s variety show “Infinite Challenge,†has stopped its online sales after embroiled in a plagiarism issue.

 

“Infinite Challenge†announced through a press release on Wednesday that the popular show and Primary’s agency Amoeba Culture have decided to stop the online sales of “I Got C.â€

 

“We apologize from the bottom of our heart for worrying viewers after Myung-soo and Primary’s ‘I Got C’ involved in controversy,†the long-running variety show said. 

 

“I Got C,†the swing hip-hop jazz tune rolled out on November 2 and shot straight up to No. 1 on numerous music charts, caused a controversy with its similarity with Dutch musician Caro Emerald’s recent releases.

Sounds like a court case is brewing. 

 

Since the producers of the show are the one who stopped the sales, I think they just don't want to be involved in any further issues. Their main intention of the music festival was for fun and charity, so of course they're not gonna put an alleged plagiarized song up, it gives the impression that the show encourages plagiarism. I think they're just taking measures for the sake of the show's image.

But it's still #1 on Melon and it's been hours since this announcement? Are they still allowed to stream? 

 

Seems as though this case might be more serious than previous plagiarism accusations.
