My high school only had Spanish and French. We had to take at least two years of one, so I picked Spanish because they said it was easier and more used in the US. Originally, I'd planned to take Spanish all four years, but after the second year where our teacher went on maternity leave, we were given a sub who didn't know Spanish, and as a result of that almost everyone in my class failed the exam... I thought I probably hadn't learned enough in Spanish 2 to go on to the next level, so I quit while I was behind.

the high school I graduated from offers Spanish, French, and Korean (due to the high number of Korean-Americans in my city, but when I was a student, the only people who took Korean were Korean heritage speakers who took the class to get the foreign language req. out of the way)

my local community college offers Mandarin, Japanese, French, and Spanish

the university I attended/graduated from offers Arabic, German, Classical/New Testament Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Latin, Mandarin, French, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish, and Russian
