I can't see Keita's eyes  :rlytearpls:

this sound way better than what they have released in the last 5 years?

I still adore their old music until the album thanks lol

I gotta disagree. I think this is catchy but not their best release in recent years. Their singles and albums post 2013 have given them a more refined and mature sound and differentiated them from other groups. Boom Word Up sounds generic as hell in comparison, but that's just my opinion.

While I agree that Timeless & Blue Blood were more mature(and I loved them to bits well except A little bit-I pretend it never happened) I don't think this bit of change is bad. After all they're still young and they enjoy doing this type of songs.

A while ago they had a survey what type of song fans want as a new single and more than 2/3 of them said their old Jpop sound so I guess this is a compromise for them since that song does sound like their b-sides from mid 2000(and it's their 15 anniversary single so I guess they wanted to please their fans).Plus their inspiration for this are the 90' so it's not that far off from what they did in their last years. They're gonna have a new album this summer so I guess we'll see then  if they're switching directions again(Keita is pretty into tropical house now and I admit I really want them to do at least one of those songs)

Oh, I don't think this song is bad. It's catchy and I'll probably play it when it comes up on my playlist, but just as you said I believe it belongs to their early 2000's discography. I don't really know how to explain it other than to say it's not as interesting to me because I feel like several groups, and them included, have released songs like these in the past.

Also, as I've gotten older I've come to like their less pop sounding tracks more so that's another reason this isn't blowing my mind. And I agree! It's gonna be interesting to see what kind of album they're gonna be putting together.
