totally-seopies 1,786 Posted November 6, 2017 Share Posted November 6, 2017 (edited) is anybody else really miffed about Mix Nine not showing SE Girls audition??? that was our only chance to see sion, jiyeon, dawon and ara, but they didn´t even give us that? and than i realised that the unit also didn´t show imfact´s audition even tho they all passed! and then i thought back to all the fucked up treatment 9muses and ze:a got from variety shows, like never being shown unless they do something crazy or exceptionally good. like, not even reaction shots! (except for kwanghee, but he had to put a lot of work into that!) and it´s just like, what is wrong with all those public networks? what is their deal? why do they hate talent and visuals so much? Well survival shows usually don't dedicate time to showing everyone who auditions and they prioritize companies/participants who have a bit of attention to them to get more views or to make drama/some sort of interesting segment to get more views. It is likely they couldnt make some sort of drama out of the girls' audition but idk I dont really like how mix nine is going anyway. It was lucky that the girls got shown back in p101 days, but that was more because they seemed to have wanted to show the variety of types of contestants they had (with our girls being the super super cute end of the spectrum and bulldok at the other end). Also The Unit in itself is really messed up when it comes to auditions I don't think its just to not show imfact in particular, the screentime distribution is messed up in general. Giving some contestants such a long time and then lumping a bunch together and leaving a large amount of auditions out? If they had included imfact, it would have had to be because imfact did so amazing and got a super boot or something or they would have been lumped together in a tiny clip. Like most of the contestants they spent time on would either be controversial bec they dont fit the show (the trainees) or they have a history that would gain the attention of people (being a part of a pretty well known group/being known in some sort of way but not being successful etc). Imfact doesnt fit either of those. They've been around long enough to fit the concept of the show, but not long enough to be like "hey we debuted like 9 years ago and no one noticed us" and they haven't gained public recognition and lost it or anything like that. I mean I still think they should have shown them and more auditions instead of having such a weird distribution of time though. It's kind of confusing now since people come here for info on her, but now we have all the new trainees and everything who are officially considered star empire girls. Maybe for now she could be considered a former star empire girl but it'll be confusing especially whenever they start really preparing to debut the group. And interestingly enough both of those songs are written (both composed and with lyrics) and arranged by e.one. What if the debut song ends up being by e.one? Idk why Yunji always lags behind in online voting like I don't get it at all. Especially since she's clearly doing well in the ranking in the show. totally-seopies 1,786 Posted December 6, 2017 Share Posted December 6, 2017 TBH Mix Nine seems like its a mess of a show and that seems to be one of the many reasons why its not doing as well as it could. Like it seems like all these details that should have been released as a way to hype up the show BEFORE it started are being randomly thrown out there in the middle of it (almost as if they just came up with these ideas for the group). It doesn't seem all that well planned out at all and thats upsetting because if it was then there could be a lot more hype around the trainees beyond the little bit that there is. The good thing about this new addition means that there is a chance at promotion for the girls team even if they lose in that final vote (which makes that part of the show kind of useless because apparently they would promote and still do the tour AND from what more I found on it they would also do a reality show so its like?? why not just say that both teams with debut) Yunji seems like she has a really good chance at making it just purely from her doing so well with the grading on the show so I'm hoping that they dont decide to pull a "hey everything will be based entirely on fan voting now" thing. totally-seopies 1,786 Posted February 15, 2018 Share Posted February 15, 2018 I'm not gonna lie it does make me uncomfortable that they seem to be repeating how they promoted the girls as omzm but with it feeling like hyeri is replaced (not saying hyokyeong is a replacement at all). I get that those are the three that made it onto the show but they've already publicly shown off the other girls and have them active on twitter so they should be showing what they're dynamic will be like as a group instead of just focusing on those three If they only have vlives and events with hyokyeong yunji and sihyeon I'll be really upset because they'd just be wasting time and opportunity to promote the group. whether hyokyeong will promote with the mixnine group or not (which is really questionable now since yg are already even neglecting the winning boys team) they should be taking this time to really push the group out there and prepare them for debut, even if they have to postpone it for a while Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It's like Hyokyeong suddenly (after being selected to participate in mixnine and progressing quite far together with sihyeon and yunji before actually making it to the final 9 gals) seems to be a replacement/solution which SE feels should be able to cover the big gap which is left by Hyeri. The gap left by Hyeri is somewhat too big a gap for Hyokyeong to cover. Besides they are two different people with their respective personalities and charms. SE should not be thinking of trying to get her to fill up that missing gap. It doesn't work that way and it's unfair to Hyokyeong. Like i mentioned before, it's most likely SE still has nothing planned for the girls yet and is just trying to use Hyokyeong, sihyeon and yunji to buy time. I just hope it doesn't end up with the other girls leaving due to the unbalance attention showered to Hyokyeong, Sihyeon and Yunji or Yunji waiting too long that she decides to leave again. As of now, as long as 9muses (Hyemi renewed her contract, Kyungri also recently just renewed hers) is active in one way or another, i doubt SE will actually debut the girls anytime this year, next year is also a big question mark. we can only pray SE don't waste the young talents they have on hand I agree it definitely seems like they are trying to fill that gap but its very unfair because its like theyre trying to replicate the energy that produce 101 brought on even though mixnine didnt even have half the amount of attention. The biggest hope with that is that if YG actually manages to debut the girls team, the public treats them just like any regular YG group and hypes them up immediately and they get really popular, so Hyokyeong can have more solid popularity. Its just really confusing to me because obviously Hyokyeong had people out there supporting her enough to get her into the final group but when I'm just trying to search around to see what kfans might be saying but theres not that many people talking about her? From what I can see...where is everyone?! Did they just get quiet after the show ended or something? If they are just buying time it would be beneficial for them show of the other members and what they can do. I think quite opposite in terms of SE debuting the girls. I think they will debut this year, SE doesn't really have that much time to debut them since the hype for them will die down again. I'd be surprised if they didn't debut this year, especially considering 9Muses and IMFACT are the company's only active artists. If they risk waiting, they may lose whatever fanbase the group has left. They should debut this year but then again omzm should have debuted back in 2016/early 2017 but we all know how that went I'm not even bothering to guess when they'll debut (as much as I hope that its this year) Im just hoping that SE will actually step up and manage to debut them. Unless SE was gonna debut the girls, else it is normal these people would have just gone quiet. I agree they should also showcase the other members much more especially those that aren't really know to the public. Something like how pristin did or even Loona who has been showcasing each member actively. I mean even when the show was going on I would look her up and not see that much about her but obviously there were enough people supporting her to vote for her in the end. Maybe most mixnine watchers had different ways of talking about their favorites online (because the same goes for some other contestants) Like you said they don't have many resources so they need to think about what to prioritize. I could see it potentially going in two different ways: either they'll just jump right in like its now or never lets debut this group and try and take advantage of them in competition with other rookie groups or they'll just prioritize 9M since they have a fanbase already and will get some attention that could hopefully do well for them. Either option has good points and bad points. For the company promoting 9M is probably the best in terms of building up money for them but also the more time they spend idling the more likely it is that girls will leave the company before they get a chance to debut (again). The thing I hate the most about SE is that there is so much more they can do. They have a vlive channel they know how it works but will they use it to really promote the group a lot? Probably a not. They could easily post song and dance covers from different members on youtube (which is honestly how a lot of groups got a lot of fans) but it feels like they'll still rarely use it.
