Link's Awakening is my fave 2D and Wind Waker is my fave 3D Zelda ;;

There's many great Zeldas, but those just really stand out for me. I still wish Wind Waker was a bit more challenging, but the atmosphere, the sailing, the music, the final fight. It's all so good. I'm intrigued to see what the remake will bring.

crying at almost everyone here not having a 3DS

HOW CAN U GUYS SURVIVE WITHOUT THE GLORY OF OOT 3D? :ahmagah: :ahmagah: :ahmagah: :ahmagah:

it's my favorite use of 3D on the system yet. The game is absolutely gorgeous on this new version and the small adds/fixes are great :stare:

im planning to buy it from the Wii Shop lol

ummm can someone help me with this part in TP :| im stuck lmao

My favorite soundtrack.... hmmm that's hard :la:

I guess Wind Waker or Majora's Mask, even though the most iconic songs are definitely from OoT :meow: :meow:

don't forget alttp !!

oot has a bunch of fan favorites, but alttp tracks are like the BASIS for other games (overworld, dark world, hyrule castle, zelda's lullaby, etc)

alttp really does give the basis for other games, but that's it for me haha (don't worry, i'm aware of its importance xD)

well, we should consider the sound technology at the time of each game's release so even though alttp did come up with most of the ideas for the iconic zelda melodies, OoT was the first (at least in my opinion) to truly make use of each song's potential with their new arrangements, you know, like to me what they sound in OoT was like how they were meant to be hahaha that's just me being a fanboy though~ :meow: we can't deny that to most people it was indeed OoT that made Zelda's themes popular :stare: ]

btw i just finished replaying TP and started ALTTP on my GBA :ahmagah: so excited to go through it againnnnn, it's been a long time since my last run

My younger cousin brought home the Legend of Zelda Hyrule Historia awhile back

Spent hrs looking through the thing

That reminds me (this one is more on the nerdy side so some may want to skip my post over :._.:  and upvote :ninja: ), did anyone else go WTF at the triple (quantum?) timelines

Timeline_Hyrule_Historia.jpg

Many were aware of the child and adult timelines but a 3rd one where the hero dies is out of the blue. This helps explains how ALTTP, AoL, LoZ fit in (before it was slighty awkard to pencil them into either child or adult) but from the way this new timeline is created, it has to basically be completey seprate from the other lines yet completely acceptable and valid

At the final battle (Im guessing that is where Link dies) depending on whether Link lives, time is instantly split in 2 - one where he lives and seals the big G and leads to the adult and child timelines, and one where he dies which leads to the first 3 games Nintendo made. Now the tricky part is that both the alive and dead outcomes are both valid (yeah i know paradox) stemming from the same beginning - its like a quantum superpostion (some sciencey geeky stuff, if you want to know carry on).

Normally, when you cause something you can be sure of the outcome. Throw a ball up, it will eventually drop back to the ground.

In quantum mechanics (the study of stuff smaller than sub atomtic particles like protons, electrons etc), a single event (say 2 sub atoms colliding) can have 2 different outcomes/situations happen at the same time, its only when you investigate (in normal scientic terms this means use a photon/electron microsope) the possibilties collapese to leave only one end result (as simply investigating you may have accidently knocked a particle a ceratin way or  thus making one possibilty a reality). Until you actually attempt to look at whats happening, it has to be acceptabed that both possibilties are happening at the same time. For further info, look up "Schrodinger's cat experiment".

That takes cares of how, but the why is still the elephant in the room, why does Link (the boy destined to defeat evil) just die?! And when? Or even by who IT WAS THOSE DAMN CUCCOS? There's still a lot of holes left to fill but unfortuantely OoT has been out so long and there's no mention of the hero dying in other games that we may never get a satisfactory answer to these questions. Well that is unless another game game comes along and retcons it...

Reagardless of how its possible or even why, I love how Nintendo acknowledges that there is a timeline and fans weren't pulling stuff outta their ass all along, especially with how strong some plot points and themes were between games. Plus and more importantly to gamers, since there are multiple timelines, its a very clever way of allowing Nintendo to make new games that have completely different settings, characters (apart from Link, Zelda and/or Ganondorf), plots and even different gamepley mechanics but still having it "feel" like a Zelda game and fit in with the rest of the series - rather than most other games which can only tell prequels or sequels and therfore must confirm to existing story and/or gameplay.

While I like the timeline and agree with most of it, sometimes i can't help but think that Nintendo just made it out of the blue for Hyrule Historia just so people would shut up and stop asking about timelines hahahahaha because you know, it HAS many flaws... but still, it's better than not having a timeline as reference for all the games...

can't wait to see where the next game will fit in :ahmagah: :ahmagah: :ahmagah:

Not really surprised. Just more of an "Oh, didn't think of that."

It's pretty obvious where LttP2 fits in, at least.

I only found this out today, but Nintendo isn't having a press conference. :horror:

I love omocat art  :chu:

Nintendo is still holding press events the day they usually do, but instead of 1 big press conference they're having 2 smaller ones.

1 closed for investors and then a media event to showcase the games~  :meow: but I don't think they're going to show anything for Zelda Wii U this year, maybe concept art but that's it.
