The alternate costumes look great! I'm not liking the look of the original characters, though.  :horror: They look too generic anime, not enough Zelda/Dynasty hybrid.

This, one quick look at the screenshot and I thought it was Hatsune Miku from Vocaloids

Her mannerisms, her looks and her everything seems very...yeah, not Zelda, maybe Final Fantasy, but not Zelda.

Thanks to E3 Zelda hype, I finally managed to finish my first Zelda game Link Between Worlds a few days ago and now going try go through Ocarina of Time 3D which I bought in like 2013 and haven't touched since lol :imstupid:So far, pretty ok, the transition from 2D to 3D gameplay does add a little depth to combat but man the amount of backtracking and walking around with Link is starting to annoy me, also the Rupee maxing out on 99 is annoying, keep finding wasted Rupee chests :._.: I do have a guide so I know what I'm missing, mostly just for the Ocanina notes but yeah I can see how awesome and revolutionary this game would've been back in the day :rlytearpls:

You can get a bigger wallet later, and tbh, rupees are pretty easy to find and you don't need them for much, so don't worry about the wasted rupees.

Yeah, OoT was pretty revolutionary in terms of 3D gameplay. Some things like Z targeting, which it introduced, are still used today for 3D games.

I also finished playing through A Link Between Worlds the other day too. \o/ I've had it since early 2014, but only just got around to playing it recently. /flop Zelda fan

Oh cool, I was just worried cuz the first Shield you buy costed 80 Rupees :derp:

Yeah I'm probably not gonna get the other 3D Zelda (unless I find them for real cheap) but I look forward to BOTW having second stick camera controls, have you played the Oracle of Ages/Seasons games? I remember playing some of them as a kid and thought it was fricking awesome :rlytearpls:

Oh yeah you do really have to look around for rupees the first time lmao. There are a couple of other times where you need to buy something, but for the most part, you acquire everything you need from dungeons etc.

If I would recommend another 3D Zelda game to you, it would be Wind Waker HD on Wii U. It's a really accessible game, but also super easy.  I don't think I've died once in any of my WW playthroughs. It's fun, though. But yeah, there are a lot of Zelda games, so I can understand if playing through them all is a bit too much for most people.

How much did you see of the new Zelda game btw? I've seen a few people critique that rupees are kind of worthless in Zelda games, but it seems like they've really changed up how you acquire them now. I wonder if there will be more of a use for them now too.

I actually got the Oracles games during the eShop anniversary sale. I also got Link's Awakening. I haven't played through any of them yet though. I never had any handhelds growing up, so I only got to play the home console Zelda games.  :rlytearpls: Bless virtual console. It would be a pain finding a way to play them otherwise.

Yeah looks like they really changed things up in the new Zelda, tbh I don't mind having random loot and disposable items now since it means everyone's playthrough would be more unique but yeah not sure about the rupee situation, in LBW, once you get enough you buy all the items in the rental shop, it becomes kinda useless. I hear the new Zelda is gonna be more RPG like too so maybe we can use rupees to upgrade our current gear or something?

Just finished Ocarina of Time, overall not bad, lots of puzzles throughout but nothing too overwhelming, I did get stuck a few times but had a guide to help. Honestly I think I would've missed out on a lot of stuff if I didn't have a guide lol, can't imagine how people back then would've played it with no real guide or anything  :rlytearpls:  That last boss was a bit annoying though since you needed magic to defeat him and I ran out so had to restart and buy some magic potions, overall I think I still prefer 2D LBW over it since I feel the puzzles work better but yeah can't wait for BOTW now :chu:

Oh, I missed this for some reason. But yeah, it does have more RPG elements now. Technically you could upgrade weapons in Zelda a long time ago (usually through side or main quests though). And in the last home console game, Skyward Sword, is when a proper item upgrade system was added. You couldn't upgrade your sword, though. You got the master sword pretty early on and were basically just strengthening it so it attained it's 'true' power. Other weapons like the sling shot, bow and arrow, beetle and even your shield could be upgraded through items that you found in the land below. All shields could break except for the Hylian Shield, which couldn't be bought, but was earned. I'm curious to see how BotW will build on that.

When I was a kid, me and my siblings would work on the puzzles together.  Glad you enjoyed it despite it being such an old game. I love 2D Zeldas, but I have to say, the sense of adventure and scale in 3D Zeldas makes them my favourite. I think 2D Zeldas are more suited for handhelds, though.

Oh cool, yeah tbh as much as I like the puzzles in Zelda, it would be cool to see become more 'RPGish' in that bosses don't always have to require specific items to beat them or certain weak points just maybe make some items more effective against them but every item could technically work against them so you can form different strategies.

Yeah I think I could probably enjoy it more if it had the modern 3D controls we have today and make it more obvious as to what to do and where to go next, I know that's part of the charm but I like to know what I'm doing and what to do at all times even in open world games, otherwise feels like I'm wasting time
