in the preview we can hear kang chul's secretary call OYJ and ask her to meet her for dinner... she then gets arrested at the restaurant..
do you think the secretary set her up? i like the secretary but if she mess with ma girl OYJ she is in for a rude awakening

someone on tumblr gave an interesting theory as to how Kang Chul got free will as a cartoon character and how it ties to the dad:

http://brainlessoutofdate.tumblr.com/post/148099362881/i-find-it-interesting-that-the-moment-when-the-dad

this doesn't make sense to me since we already found out that the reason yeon joo keeps going back to kang chul is because she is now the lead in the webtoon... re how she enters the webtoon i don't think thats it either as the hand has reached out from the screen to grab her father before (you can see this in the highlight teaser, i don't know which episode we will see this tho) thus something else instigated kang chul's abililty to catch on to something being wrong with his world... maybe he was made too perfect/smart.. idk but the reason is linked with the dad more than it is with yeon joo imo

I wonder what is the main plot / conflict of the drama... i feel as if the prosecutor vs kang chul is the main story and this is just leading up to it. I am curious and scared to see how their story unfolds.

I'm wondering that too.. regardless of whether they move to the real world or the webtoon world, only one of them is potentially going to survive.. there has to be some twist in the story so that they end up together.. the writer usually gives a happy ending I believe? I'm not sure..  :rlytearpls:

the writer usually does for example in Queen In Hyun's Man where the male lead travels to and from Joseon Era and Modern Times (where the female lead lives)

in the end he ended up living in the future with her

I haven't watched Nine which is another of this writers work about time travelling but I might marathon it to pass the time while waiting on W

my head hurts from all these theories

Most of my thoughts about this episode have already been said much more eloquently than I could so the only comment that I have, is that I believe we've only scratched the surface of Kang Chul's "fake world". Sure, this world seems to revolve around him, but how do we explain why characters other than Kang Chul, as we've seen in the past three episodes, take actions purely on their own volition, when they are away from KC, and more importantly when we as viewers know their "puppet master" aka Dad has not penned any of these plots?

For example, how was So-hee, a supposedly pure manhwa character, able to break away from her "codes" as a supporting character to follow KC's orders? KC is the main character, who is supposedly the *only* "mutant" in their world that is capable of free-thinking. But then So-hee did the unthinkable and rebelled against the de facto "god" of this world, not unlike how KC had rebelled against the original creator/god – Yeon-joo's Dad. Aside from So-hee, several other characters, like the evil assemblyman, the police, even the waiters and other staffs at the Hotel, have all been plotting and doing things on their own, without KC's knowledge! And we know for sure Dad hasn't been drawing any manhwa when these were happening!

Could KC's world not be as fake as it seems? Why else, would the writer have spent valuable onscreen time setting up these characters in KC's world, only to have him realize they were all lifeless puppets in episode FOUR?

I don't know where this story is going (that's why it's super super FUN!), but I sure know we have not seen the last of So-hee, of Do-yoon, of Ajusshi, and of course the evil assemblyman. And I seriously doubt KC will be spending the next 12 episodes manipulating these characters the way children play their barbies or dolls.

Very much looking forward to getting my mind blown countless times til the series end!

Same. Just bingewatched the first 4 and loving the story. The only thing i am confused by is the webtoon authors crazy overreaction to Kang Chul and calling him a monster he must murder. The only way it makes sense to me is if he created Kang Chul with the intent that he murdered his family and his split perso ality is a psycho murderer. Realizing such a creature was gaining awareness and able to manipulate his world would make me get why he was so hellbent to destroy/kill him.

imagine reading a webtoon then all of a sudden it starts changing in front of your eyes and starts talking to you?  :derp:

I understand his concern... there are some scenes they haven't shown us as well that might shed more light on this too

MY THOUGHTS ON EP 5

I like how the show shows us the three different perspectives of Kang Chul, Dad and Yeon Joo.

Re: DAD

I understand the reasons why he wants kill Kang Chul, I mean he's just a character he created putting pen to paper and then all of a sudden your drawings are coming to life and changing the story? That's legit the plot of a horror movie - no one wants to live that. What I will not support is the fact that he actually got transported to KC's world and saw him in HUMAN FORM (yes he's a comic book charachter but still!!!) KC looked exactly like a human, breathing the same air and has the same red blood - what he did was straight up attempted murder by stabbing him while he was dying. Her dad scares me because he lacks empathy and showed NO REMORSE while talking to a living breathing Kang Chul about destroying his life and killing his parents... i'm understanding that he didn't know at the time but the guy is right in front of him and he's still acting like a fucking psycho and shows no remorse like wtf. He was asking to get shot tbh, I dont blame KC.

Re: Kang Chul

He showed empathy to the dad because he is somewhat understanding of the fact that the dad did think he was just a manhwa character and not real - he got past that and only wanted closure. The dad kept on jeering him on and showed 0 remorse, he put up with it but he has a breaking point too - for him at least, his world was real. The dad was straight up disrespectful and if I was KC I would have shot him too.

Re: Yeon Joo

We have to wait until the next episode to see her reaction to the whole situation and her thought process.

Irregardless, her dad is still her dad and KC although somewhat real is still somewhat fictional.

I don't think we have reached that point in their relationship where she will choose KC over her Dad

I of course think she will be understanding of his situation.

If her father does die which I doubt he will - I won't be able to ship them anymore.

Dating the guy that killed your father (even though it was within somewhat good reason)?

That's not a storyline I can get past honestly.

So let the old man live lol

idk she is always surprised and dummie

what would your reaction be? how is she supposed to not be surprised... there is nothing normal about the predicament she's in

she got sucked into a comic book world created by her father

the comic book charachter came into her world

the comic book charachter shot her father

that must be a regular day where you're from lol

i don't think she's stupid, she reacts quickly to situations that require her to i.e when she was getting arrested

I loved how the episode explained so many things we were all confused about.. I'm hyped for episode 7/8.. I think we'll know how KC was saved the 1st time by then.. it probably has to do with YJ! :la:

and now I'm more certain about the masked guy being KC himself or some evil doppelgänger since the dad more or less implied that his family was killed because the story needed to progress hence making KC himself the reason for their death.. I'm interested to know whether or not this person too can travel to the real world and not freeze in the webtoon world like KC..

I'm wondering if KC will still be able to remember everything that happened in the real world once he gets back to the webtoon world.. I hope they show that in the next episode.. I can't wait until next week..  :rlytearpls:

in this episode they said that the killer does not exist - that means it isn't kang chul, dad or anybody at all...right?

The "killer" is not a real person.. it's like in my opinion if someone grabbed the hoodie the "killer" is wearing they would be noone underneath it... just air. Maybe further on in the story the "killer" will start acting on his own and then a charachter will develop? idk tbh this is a confusing show lol

I really don't understand korean people sometimes! I don't get how another drama I won't name can have 19% ratings with such a boring and cliché story and something like W that has a never-done-before plot with  great acting, suspense doesn't even have 15% of ratings. This drama deserves to be a hit! I hope it breaks the 15% even though tbh I think it deserves at least a 25%!

I remember when one of you said a few days a ago that OYJ would be the creator and I am 99% now convinced that it's her. The drawings she was doing when her parents were fighting are the scene from the olympics! Her father prob just used her sketches as a basis to create his main character!

I am glad the writer gave an explanation to the fact that KC knew OYJ wouldn't die and didn't shot her just because he was an asshole cause that was really making me mad.

I have no words to describe the father, he's such a disgusting human being. At the beginning I tried to understand his reasoning, seeing one of your creations come to life must be scary but how he had no empathy and even seemed to have so much fun telling KC his life was worthless and all the pain he's gone through was just to make his webtoon interesting made me want to punch my screen!

I wonder what role the prosecutor will have from now. I doubt OYJ's dad will die so what if he comes back and writes the next chapters giving more evidence to the fact that KC killed his family therefore getting him arrested again? I think after KC shot him, he's going to be even more ruthless and remorseless in killing him or making his life terrible in fear that he can come back to the real world again and kill him for good this time.

i agree i had to drop that certain drama it's so boring and the plot is cliche

not to mention the love line sucks, i'll normally stick around with a terrible drama for the love line but i don't ship them at all

not to mention the male lead is scraping his 40s and acts like a high schooler

Xports News - Naver: 'W', Lee Jong Suk shoots Kim Eui Sung...Han Hyo Joo is the key to reality?

1. [+7,848, -107] Why did he keep getting angry ã… ã… ã… ã… ã… ã… ã… ã…  Should've kept quiet

2. [+5,635, -198] What fault does Kang Chul have? His entire family died, he fell in the Han River, got stabbed, almost died from poisoning and almost hit by a car...

3. [+4,771, -119] Time went by too fast....

4. [+4,460, -106] The story gives me shivers. Really curious how this drama will end!

5. [+3,610, -90] I love the story and the bgmã„·ã„·

6. [+1,827, -14] Yeon Joo's childhood scene was too short but who really created Kang Chul is her. Remember when Yeon Joo told Kang Chul that she wishes for him to have a happy ending? She is the "real author", her intentions are reflected in the manhwa which explains that no matter how hard Oh Sung Mu tries to kill Kang Chul, he always survives. Ultimately, Oh Sung Mu isn't the one in control of the manhwa but it progresses according to Oh Yeon Joo's intentions. In short, Kang Chul's future lies in Yeon Joo's hands

7. [+1,417, -30] What will happen when Kang Chul and Oh Yeon Joo find out that this is just a drama? ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹

8. [+1,383, -29] Kang Chul and Oh Sung Mo's confrontation scene alone took almost 30 minutes of the episode, but the acting is just amazing ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ There was not a dull moment in it

9. [+1,213, -8] The moment he tore the plastic wrapping from the comic book, I wondered if he had money with him

10. [+1,169, -32] Oh Sung Mo didn't create Kang Chul, Oh Yeon Joo did. Seeing that he has an incompetent father, she created a character that's the exact opposite of him

Herald Pop - Nate: 'W', Lee Jong Suk kisses Han Hyo Joo

1. [+460, -22] I cannot predict what's coming right ahead in the future episodes. Why did time go by so quickly?

2. [+367, -28] It's only a kiss, why am I shaking!!!!! This drama is so good

3. [+66, -3] I really liked Lee Jong Suk's emotional acting today.. His face and lips were shivering

4. [+66, -2] Not regretting switching from UF to W. This is really fun

5. [+60, -1] The final scene almost took half of the episode but it didn't feel boring at all ã„·ã„·ã„· It was like watching an acting battle.. especially Lee Jong Suk, there is nothing to dislike about his acting
