Wow, this is a really active drama thread. I enjoyed reading everyone's comments.

After reading everything I think I'm more confused than before but definitely interested in why Yeon Joo can't be hurt in the drama world, the prosecutor, and obv the dad and how he managed to create Kang Chul.

Do people think the screen on the rooftop is the same one the dad discarded? It didn't look broken to me. Really interested in whether he can come out any screen or specifically that one. I feel like the webtoon can be written without the screen though bc it's just getting sent somehow directly to the publisher.

http://www.soompi.com/2016/07/29/w-promises-2-particular-upcoming-episodes-will-amazing-completed-script-episode-11/

Sources from MBC’s “W†are upping our excitement levels for more of the drama!

The third episode of the show has been considered by some viewers to be the most action-packed and thrilling so far, but a representative from “W†promises they’ve got even better things in store. “The third episode was great too, but the scripts for episodes seven and eight are the best,†they say. “You should look forward to it.â€

Another source from the show says, “There will be an even more exciting story starting in episode eight.â€

“W†is slated for a sixteen-episode run, and scripts have been completed for up to episode eleven so far. As they are not filming all the scenes for a certain episode in a row, it’s difficult to say what episodes have been completed so far, but it’s been reported that they have filmed scenes for episode eleven already. It’s said that as half the drama was filmed before its premiere, they aren’t feeling rushed by deadlines.

Another source from “W†says, “Episode twelve is currently being written. I’m shocked every time I read the scripts. They’re so solid and exciting.â€

Dammit I want episodes 7 and 8 to come faster now

wow, episode 4 was good! I first started to be scared the drama will turn into a boring romance with a shitty love triangle but it didnt and it takes a turn I didnt expect! I like it! I hope the drama still surprise me in a good way.

I cant wait for episode 5 and "the meeting" between the creator and the creation.

omg what will happen to him now ;;;;;; i'm so curious about how and when they will meet again plus what the hell is happening with yeonjoo's father. two fantastic episodes again tbh i just watched them and just want MORE. the guy who want catch kangchul after 122323 years is a dick tbh like dude you don't have anything else to do when he's making bank and doing good things? i love so-hee tbh totally my favorite character but overall even yeonjoo after these next 2 episodes (how much sictom-like she is) are interesting characters imo can't wait for new episodes, what a good drama 'w' is <3

my head hurts from all these theories

Most of my thoughts about this episode have already been said much more eloquently than I could so the only comment that I have, is that I believe we've only scratched the surface of Kang Chul's "fake world". Sure, this world seems to revolve around him, but how do we explain why characters other than Kang Chul, as we've seen in the past three episodes, take actions purely on their own volition, when they are away from KC, and more importantly when we as viewers know their "puppet master" aka Dad has not penned any of these plots?

For example, how was So-hee, a supposedly pure manhwa character, able to break away from her "codes" as a supporting character to follow KC's orders? KC is the main character, who is supposedly the *only* "mutant" in their world that is capable of free-thinking. But then So-hee did the unthinkable and rebelled against the de facto "god" of this world, not unlike how KC had rebelled against the original creator/god – Yeon-joo's Dad. Aside from So-hee, several other characters, like the evil assemblyman, the police, even the waiters and other staffs at the Hotel, have all been plotting and doing things on their own, without KC's knowledge! And we know for sure Dad hasn't been drawing any manhwa when these were happening!

Could KC's world not be as fake as it seems? Why else, would the writer have spent valuable onscreen time setting up these characters in KC's world, only to have him realize they were all lifeless puppets in episode FOUR?

I don't know where this story is going (that's why it's super super FUN!), but I sure know we have not seen the last of So-hee, of Do-yoon, of Ajusshi, and of course the evil assemblyman. And I seriously doubt KC will be spending the next 12 episodes manipulating these characters the way children play their barbies or dolls.

Very much looking forward to getting my mind blown countless times til the series end!

I think they can have a happy ending. Look at my love from another star and everything that happened there but their relationship was still a success in the end. Also this ship has me shook. I love it so much. The acting was so much better this episode.

This drama makes my head hurt.

Initially, I thought the man in the black hood was Yeon Joo's father, but now I'm not so sure. He didn't even know that Kang Chul was "alive" until after the Han River scene and Kang Chul's family had already been killed by then. Does that mean that the black hooded figure is simply a representation of the father's artwork? Well if that's the case, where exactly did her father disappear off to in the first episode if he didn't need to physically appear in the webtoon to stab Kang Chul and can just use his drawings to kill him.

Also, was the name of the webtoon "W" from the start? If "W" stands for who and why then that means that the father had planned to kill the family from the very start and had wanted to write a detective/mystery plot where Kang Chul solves the case. But didn't the father technically kill Kang Chul at the Han River? Does that mean that the father had no intentions of letting Kang Chul solve the mystery from the beginning or did he decide to abruptly and badly end a webtoon where nothing gets resolved?

I think he did have intentions for Kang Chul to solve the mystery from the beginning but then his depression from his wife and daughter being torn from him took over and he decided, "fuck all of this, I'm done, I quit, I'm going to end everything and kill off Kang Chul now because I'm getting nowhere."

Stagnant? I expected it to rise, but fine as long as it doesn't decrease :)

I was unpleasantly surprised too.. like how on earth ep 4 is totally the same as ep3 and didn't move an inch?

I don't think KC would do it, I've got a feeling that there's another character involved that did all that. And btw, we can be sure KC is not human, since OYJ wasn't affected by the gunshot but he almost died after he was stabbed.

EDIT: on second thought, I think he's a real human hence he didn't die in the han river, he didn't die when the truck was going to hit him, and he's trying to die in the real world. Also, the killer could be a real person, the father maybe? And what's that hooded man who broke into his house in ep 3?

Now I am thinking that he really could be real human somehow and that is how they could end up together at the end.

P.S. Last week intentionally watched Nine - it was good but then I started Queen In Hyun.. and somehow just couldn't go on, hardly finished 1 ep, and stopped at the middle of second.. too sweet?

wow this place also active

my 1st post here

really loving W and I hope they know how to solve the intertwined world theories.

IMO the world of kangchul tied to his creator (the dad for now) since it pretty logical to think that the dad put his heart when creating kang cheol.

Kangchul realisation and despair from the bridge may come from the dad's feeling when he doesn't understand how his marriage reach an end point and yeon joo leaves his life.

But his inner feeling still has some courage that manifested and shown by kang cheol saving himself.

Over the time, the dad loses himself while kang cheol gain his awareness.

Yeon Joo is the key because she also the key to his life, his ex wife didn't visits him as I remember, only yeon joo.

Then for the female webtoon action. I think she has protective mindset for kang cheol since she is the heroine so in her point of view, she didn't act out of character, she still protecting kang cheol from outside harm but without the writer instruction (or she act alone), she can't comprehend kang cheol's feeling, she doesn't have "the heart", she only has the "protect kang cheol from outsider harm" mindset,

ps: what is consider spoiler here?

I saw spoiler tag for W storyline but this is W thread?

so spoiler tag is used for other drama

I always want to post here but my internet connection is a bit bad lately so I couldn't. I keep making theories with my mom about the story or what will happen. I love it when I do that considering a movies/dramas/tv-shows/books. that's why I like W so much because of the beauty of how unpredictable the story is.

anyway am I the only one who thinks the reason YJ dad can't control KC is because he isn't the original creator of him but it was YJ herself & that's way she's main the reason or like KC said before "the key of his life". like yes her dad created the whole world of W & the story but the first illustration of KC was drawn by YJ & that's why he can't control him. I mean it was said that she has the same "gift" of her father & YJ dad seem to have lost control of KC mostly since his divorce & when YJ left the house. he could have asked YJ before when he was first creating the story about what she look for/in fiction character or her dream guy, she drew it & said the main the characteristics of him or what she for in a person & her dad continued from there so he technically wrote the story but not KC in a way & that's why he can't end the story. the only person could end it is YJ herself & that's why she can effect KC story.

either that or like Inkheart KC is a real person but he was somehow trapped in that fictional world.

also the hooded bad guy could be an early version un-used of KC himself. they have the same height & he seems to know or predict the moves of KC in fighting.

I also feel the ending will be bittersweet like in the end YJ will grow up & let go of this dream or illusion of loving a fictional character & starts to live her life. Like she realizes that her unrealistic crush on this character was a bit childish but now she's says goodbye to that crush she has on this fictional persona and realize she needs to find someone in the real world to love that reminds her of the soul/fire that attracted her to him in the first place. but in the ending scene somehow she's in surgery or save someone life that end up being KC but like a real version of him.

does anything I said make any sense?! lmao. sorry for my rambling

Omg, I love your entire post! Your post might possibly explain why Kang Chul is always blabbering:" She's the key to my life." Not only does it sound super cheesy (and there isn't that much cheesy stuff going on in this series), but I just keep thinking: What do you mean? How the hell do you know that on the spot? It has been mentioned only briefly, but in episode 2, Yeon Joo's aunt did say that it was a mistake to have sent Yeon Joo to medical school instead of art school. Yeon Joo doesn't seem to be particularly fond of her job as a doctor but has more or less resigned to finishing up with her residency and pay her mom back. Who knows, if the parents had never divorced, she might have followed in her dad's footsteps.

Also to the ending: That's a good and realistic ending tbh. It's too early to think about it already, but I personally don't think it will work out for a normal Happy End between Yeon Joo and Kang Chul without one person sacrificing their current life. This is not "Queen In Hyun's Man" or "My Love from Another Star". We are talking about a character that was created from pure fiction and was never meant to be real in the first place.
