Yeah. The director keeps outdoing himself each episode. This drama is so good because it's a triple threat: 1) acting on point 2) writing on point 3) directing on point (bonus: 4) music on point)

Signal is the only recent drama checking all these boxes. This drama makes me breathless, I'm addict at this point.  :rlytearpls:

What should have happened in 15 episodes happened in 4 episodes. Even though KC won't die this soon, I'm scared by the pace of this story. I can't even process my thoughts correctly. Imagine if anyone marathons that? We're already all speechless by watching it live, what about those who will marathon it?

Theory that has been popping up everywhere:

KC is apparently going to murder dad. There is this screencap of dad struggling in his own blood from that highlight video. It sounds legit. I'm scared. Help

I'm anticipating the confrontation between the creator and the creation and at the same time I'm scared of it.  :omg:

I don't think KC would do it, I've got a feeling that there's another character involved that did all that. And btw, we can be sure KC is not human, since OYJ wasn't affected by the gunshot but he almost died after he was stabbed.

EDIT: on second thought, I think he's a real human hence he didn't die in the han river, he didn't die when the truck was going to hit him, and he's trying to die in the real world. Also, the killer could be a real person, the father maybe? And what's that hooded man who broke into his house in ep 3?

something that I've been wondering about after seeing episode 4 is how that barrier to the real world appeared next to him when he was dying on the hotel rooftop. It appeared in episode 4 because he was aware that the world he was living in is fake, but what about when it appeared next to him when he was near-death? He obviously didn't know he was in a made-up world at the time.

(at least we now know how Yeon Joo got pulled in lol)

Hi all.. the episode got me thinking and thus I'm here... The series is honestly so damn good!!!  :rlytearpls:

I'm starting to think that OYJ might be the reason why KC has any self awareness.. It seems like the screen to the other world appears when OYJ wants KC to be safe.. she could possibly be the reason why he survived the suicide attempt too.. He might be originally her creation and not the dad's.. that's why the dad can't kill him because OYJ still wants him to live? just a guess.. lol

I think the killer might be KC himself as well.. he didn't have much awareness back then and the dad could have made KC kill his family and forget about it probably because it resonates with the writer's guilt of him being the reason why his wife and daughter left?

But if that's the case who did KC encounter to know about the people from the other world? Mr. Oh? or whoever it was also seemed to know about someone else KC encountered in his past who couldn't be killed and disappeared.. if that's not the killer who would it be?.. IDK man.. it's confusing.. maybe KC has a doppelgänger in the real world.. kinda like an evil twin..

i think he knew for some time now [ i think he expected something more like parralel universes rather than a webtoon]

the way he phrases his words are peculiar to me

even in jail... it keeps subtly hinting that Kang Chul knew more than we think

i think the way KangChul speaks and his choice of words give away some hints

maybe he suspected something from before and on the verge of dying, he just hoped for someone to help him

edit: the prosecutor dude is suspicious as fuck. he has to be connected somehow. he was too keen on death sentence and all. maybe he is another character with a will of his own

It makes sense, the screen appeared from where the webtoon was viewed. I think what triggered OYJ's passage is that saying "eat before being eaten"

someone on tumblr gave an interesting theory as to how Kang Chul got free will as a cartoon character and how it ties to the dad:

http://brainlessoutofdate.tumblr.com/post/148099362881/i-find-it-interesting-that-the-moment-when-the-dad

i find it interesting that the moment when the dad is depressed and have very dark thoughts that he projects on his webtoon by making kang chul ends his own life coincide with the birth of kang chul’s free will. and the birth of gang chul’s free will coincide with the dad’s decision to fight and try to live his life still.

like if somehow, kang chul had taken away the dad’s feelings, ingested part of him ? somehow, a part of the dad ( the darkest side of his humanity ) is taken by kang chul which gives him the ability to choose since he’s now partly human you know ?

and maybe that’s why yeon joo is linked to kang chul ? it seemed to me that the worst and most important sadness of the dad’s depression was the thought that his daughter left him and that he was all alone now. so his feeling for his daughter that were mixed with his depression and loneliness crossed over the real world into kang chul, thus creating a connexion between kang chul and yeon joo ???

this doesn't make sense to me since we already found out that the reason yeon joo keeps going back to kang chul is because she is now the lead in the webtoon... re how she enters the webtoon i don't think thats it either as the hand has reached out from the screen to grab her father before (you can see this in the highlight teaser, i don't know which episode we will see this tho) thus something else instigated kang chul's abililty to catch on to something being wrong with his world... maybe he was made too perfect/smart.. idk but the reason is linked with the dad more than it is with yeon joo imo

Once again another 1hour episode feeling like it was only 10mins long. This drama is just too good.

the tone of the drama definitely changed since OYJ got caught by the police. I don't think well be seeing anymore hilarious attempts to escape the webtoon world anymore *sadface* I think comedic relief is going to be coming predominantly from SooBong now.

I knew that the prosecutor was going to be making another appearance. I think he'll be the one to pull KC back into the webtoon even though KC now knows the truth about that world.

I wonder what is the main plot / conflict of the drama... i feel as if the prosecutor vs kang chul is the main story and this is just leading up to it. I am curious and scared to see how their story unfolds.

All the theories are so damn interesting! I knew from the moment there was a focus on the broken tablet that it would have a role in the story!

This actually seems to make sense! I mean the nurse didn't remember why she tried to kill him! What if the father made KC kill his family and he doesn't remember doing it. Also some of you were wondering if there was still some material left for 12 episodes but I think there's still A LOT! First of all the prosecutor is obviously going to try and get KC arrested again since he was shown in ep4 talking about finally cornering him for his family's murder. What if he keeps investigating and we find out KC is actually the one who unconsciously killed his family? :omg: Also there's going to be conflict between him and OYJ cause he finds out she's the daughter of the man who made his life a nightmare so he might start resenting her somehow. And if he really kills OYJ's father in the next episode, she might hate him too?

I also wonder how the characters from the webtoon will react when they find out they've been living in a fake world. Would some of them try escape to the real world too?

I don't even know what I'm saying anymore, this drama is making think harder than my brain can handle!  :rlytearpls:

Me after watching episode 4:

giphy.gif

I don't know what to say. This drama is just so good and fresh, UF is (and it should be) shook, W blew it out of the water within the first 3 minute of a pilot.

Jesus Christ, what a slay. I can't think right now.

Srsly? http://www.allkpop.com/article/2016/07/han-hyo-joos-acting-in-drama-w-stirs-up-controversy

I'll look for the Korean source since allcrap is not a trustful source -_-

the source is probably some irrelevant comments on pann or something! with like 12 upvotes at that!

All the comments on naver with more than 10K upvotes are praising both actors for their acting  :donthinkso:

Ep7-8 script is the best. You can look forward to it.
According to informants from W side, “Ep 3 is good but ep 7-8 script is the best. You can look forward to it.†Another informant said, “From ep 8, even more interesting story will come out.â€
Being a 16-ep work, ep 11 of W script has been released. Ep 4 was aired, and the furthest part that has been filmed is in ep 11. Filming is done alternately with different episodes, so it is diffcult to say how many episodes are finished, but it is half pre-produced and there is no need to rush in time to finish the filming.

T/N: I didn’t translate word for word just the important information. Another thing is I just find it funny to see the writer of this article said the progress of story is that of LTE. (LOL)

me after i watched 4th ep and see there no more eps anymore

fjFqCPW.gif

especially when they showed whats gonna happen in the next ep.

I dunno why im doing this to myself,

i should have waited till its ended and then watch it, now my life is ruined.

the main guy is so beautiful... fjgjkfgh fkdhg  damn it

btw guys... he will come to the real world but the time difference between

two worlds is way too huge, 30 mins in real world = a week in webtoon

he cant stay in real world for too long, so how... like i already think

about ending, if he ends up with the main girl and if there gonna be a happy ending,

i wonder HOW and WHERE will they live? Cant he die from old age

if he decides to live IRL? It would be better for her to go to the webtoon,

but thats a bit... dunno.

And maybe there gonna be a sad ending, which will be too much for me to handle ;__;

I'm wondering that too.. regardless of whether they move to the real world or the webtoon world, only one of them is potentially going to survive.. there has to be some twist in the story so that they end up together.. the writer usually gives a happy ending I believe? I'm not sure..  :rlytearpls:

the writer usually does for example in Queen In Hyun's Man where the male lead travels to and from Joseon Era and Modern Times (where the female lead lives)

in the end he ended up living in the future with her

I haven't watched Nine which is another of this writers work about time travelling but I might marathon it to pass the time while waiting on W
