I think it has to do something with this text she read in 1st episode. I'm wondering what is it.

And it's obvious that the criminal is just the webtoon artist himself. Look, truck wthout anybody driving it, no faces...

but the hooded criminal also seems to have a different build from YJ's dad. He seemed taller and more built. I think the dad may have drawn in the killer in his place or something but didn't actually go there himself.

This episode was SO SO GOOD. The last time I legit "kyaed" (manga heroine style) was... a long time ago. I can't even remember a recent drama which made me squeal and scream so much. I just went through so many emotions: fear, happiness, doubt, concern and then fangirling.

I swear, this drama will be the end of me. I can't stop watching it and will probably rewatch it while waiting for episode 4 and then episode 5. The acting, the writing and the directing are all on point which makes this drama a triple threat. Hope it dominates the ratings because it truly deserves it!

Can't wait for tomorrow. SO PUMPED because OYJ will go to jail, wtf I can't wait. This drama is unpredictable which makes it so great. It's not your average love story but really a mix of mystery, fantasy, comedy and romance which turns your heart upside down. :chu:

Really wonder if OYJ will get out of jail/if she's now trapped in this world because her dad broke his PC. What will happen to KC when he learns he's a cartoon character. :rlytearpls:  Can't wait! Next episode in 15h and 10 minutes, the english subs will be up around 4AM KST.

the dad may have broke his tablet, but if you pay attention carefully to the tablet when he ran out of the hotel room in fear you can see that the tablet seemed to be attempting to turn back on on its own by how the monitor was flickering.

next episode preview has got me all pumped up

IDK. At this point, I think the killer was a creation of dad but just like KC he turned into a real person or some sketchy shit. The fact he can disappear just like OYJ makes him super puzzling (except he can disappear when he wants to). Knowing W's writer, I believe it'll be a tad more complicated than just a creator vs creature. I feel like just like it was shown in ep 3

dad lost control of his manhwa a long time ago and things just escalated from this Han River scene.

If the key to this drama was this simple, W's scriptwriter wouldn't go out of his way to add more and more layers to the story.

True! But I believe the fact dad broke his tablet will be relevant to the story. I mean the story still needs a plateform to develop itself on AND be sent to dad's publishing house. If not, the chapter will go on without ending. We will probably get more answers on how the switching works in the next ep but I def think OYJ is blocked in W's world + KC doesn't want to let her go so she really can't disappear.

The killer has no personality. He was created to kill him. Of course it's not directly her dad, but it's still him. At least that's what I think. The truck was clearly empty and they emphised it using camera shots. Plus it didn't have license plate.

So you think she can't get out if the tablet is broken? That's my first thought when I saw it.

Ps. tbh I'm not sure what should I mark as a spoiler so I just marked everything  :unimpressed:

in the preview we can hear kang chul's secretary call OYJ and ask her to meet her for dinner... she then gets arrested at the restaurant..
do you think the secretary set her up? i like the secretary but if she mess with ma girl OYJ she is in for a rude awakening

I thought I couldn't get more hooked to this drama but oh god I was wrong. Episode 3 ended me!

I love all your theories and the one about OYJ not being able to get out of the webtoon because the tablet is broken actually seems to make sense. It seems like she'll get trapped  inside for longer this time. If it's the case (the broken tablet theory) do you think her dad will get worried that she can't come and has to get dragged inside all the time and actually stop trying to kill KC? Because she ends in prison in the next episode, what will happen when her dad sees that?

omg....the 3rd episode... wow

i think the dad breaking the tablet is what got her stuck inside

i wonder if Kang Chul started feeling something was up when he opened his eyes in the water and then his reality changed or realized it was something extraordinary when the car and truck was to crash

after all, at some point, he did like talk into thin air as if telling some entity he is on to them

and she is going to tell him...damn.... i am so excited for episode 4

please, all writers, make this drama right cause it is amazing <3

how does kang chul know oyj is invincible and cant be killed? do you think he tried shooting her while she was sleeping? lol

her last monologue about her being the new lead of the manhwa gave me goosebumps

Those last few lines from OYJ left me floored and squealing uncontrollably. The only reason why I have faith OYJ will get back to the real world after the PC was smashed is because KC eventually has a few moments in the real world too.

I agree that so far this drama creates more questions than it answers. I definitely feel that KC was up to a point a reflection of the father. You don't get divorced overnight it's a gradual process and from the time KC lost his family to the point at the Han river is probably a reflection of the Oh family prior to the divorce, moving out and life after moving out. It's the only way I can make sense of the mother being somewhat hostile to her sister in episode 2 about leaving the ship too early and her lack of emotion when watching the new on the rise of W and the webtoon creator. It makes me think that the mother knows whats really up and had seen the signs much earlier on.

The ratings went up as expected and I'm sure they'll go up even more tomorrow. So far there is nothing that this drama is lacking. From a plot perspective its got comedy, romance, mystery and fantasy. Different characters take on the narrating part adding more substance to more characters. The directing, editing and music is also on point. episode 3 felt like it was only 10 minutes long.

I definitely agree with you! I've also been feeling that the father invested a lot of himself into KC, particularly until that bridge scene. I can't wait to see what role the mom has to play because I'm sure that she's got more to do with the story as well. Also, I think this episode did a good job of showing why YJ's dad would be so horrified with his creation because damn it all the webtoon channel changes were horror movie worthy, lol. XD

I watched it again and feel like the mother definitely has a bigger role in the overarching plot than we're led to believe. On second viewing I started wondering if she was the killer of KC family and either the father keeps using her not knowing its her or there is more than one killer in W. This drama is so unpredictable anything is possible.

This drama made me realize why I feel unsatisfied about some of the works produced by authors who are inexperienced with creating webtoons. The episodes being too short isn't the issue. The real issue is that some authors don't know how to "end" a webtoon episode in a satisfying way for the reader.

So it's been established that the dad's really the "killer" -- the one trying to kill Kang Chul. If I were to take a guess, I think that it will be revealed that Kang Chul finds out that the dad is trying to kill him from the outside/real world or the dad will appear as the killer in the webtoon.

Ep 3 thoughts

Omg, yay, our heroine is now the heroine of the webtoon, and our second lead is starting to act like your annoying second lead.

mg, I'm loving how Yeon Joo is attempting to end the webtoon episodes. At first, I didn't realize what she was trying to do. When it finally clicked my mind, I couldn't help but cackle with glee.

The acting is so great in this drama. Lee Jong Suk's performance as a webtoon character who's actually a real person is so great. I just finished checking out his debut drama Prosecutor Princess and damn, he has improved so much over the last 6 years. Some people don't like Han Hyo Joo's portrayal of Yeon Joo, but imo, if I were a fangirl who suddenly got sucked into my favorite webtoon's world and my father's trying to kill my fave character, I'd probably act the same way as Han Hyo Joo.

The scene between Soo Bong and Yeon Joo is so cute. I love how they're fangirl/boying together and talking about the way that Kang Chul's lips feel.  :hurr:

I can't believe he shot her, and she lived.  :omg: Here's hoping that it will be revealed how he found this out by the next episode.

Thoughts about the preview

Omg, he finds out he's in a webtoon! I can't believe it's already going to be revealed! If I were Kang Chul, I would totally experience a mental breakdown from finding out I'm a fictional character in a webtoon. I'm looking forward to seeing what his reaction is and how he will handle this new revelation.

It also amuses me to think that later in the series there will likely be moments when they want to kiss and will have to think creatively to evade the “to be continued†chyron.

a comment from drama beans

Didn't think of this. I can't wait to see KC and OYJ working together to make their time together longer.
