i am so excited about this drama like i cannot say i have been about others. so much that i fear somewhere along the line they will screw up somehow and ruin everything

the whole idea is awesome

and I am so hooked on it and what it implies and it raises so many questions

and it was so awesome how KangChul finally realized something is up and how everything stopped

i had goosebumps when the scene moved to show the whole city with the question "Just who in the world are you?"

i am confused about one thing tho.

since her father created the webtoon, he can simply add a character and let it get caught. if Kang Chul finds the murderer, the story should end. then the creator can just add a character to be at fault and the end. instead he keeps insisting on killing Kang Chul.

i think the line between the two world was broken by the webtoon artist himself. if indeed KangChul somehow won that olympics while it wasn't intended, then the artist gave him more power by killing his family

i am extremely curious how this will play out. if the attempt is a romantic ending, does she get trapped in the webtoon world or does KangChul enter the real world?

or do they strangely become one?

i am ready to call this drama a masterpiece if nothing gets screwed up until it ends.

i am so excited for this drama!!!

edit: and the way they added the webtoon image in it...so awesome.

i don't know if this webtoon exists or not... but the drawings that keep appearing in the drama are so well done.

omg....the 3rd episode... wow

i think the dad breaking the tablet is what got her stuck inside

i wonder if Kang Chul started feeling something was up when he opened his eyes in the water and then his reality changed or realized it was something extraordinary when the car and truck was to crash

after all, at some point, he did like talk into thin air as if telling some entity he is on to them

and she is going to tell him...damn.... i am so excited for episode 4

please, all writers, make this drama right cause it is amazing <3

i am starting to think why KangChul got the power to control the webtoon

he made him as a genius and he figured out things are happening without context

he said it himself at the beginning of ep 4. maybe that's why he got the power. because things happened without context, his genius features understood that there is something else going on

he couldn't tell who, but it seems he knew something else was happening for some time.

maybe that was exactly what gave KangChul power- the webtoon having no context or a connecting plot

something that I've been wondering about after seeing episode 4 is how that barrier to the real world appeared next to him when he was dying on the hotel rooftop. It appeared in episode 4 because he was aware that the world he was living in is fake, but what about when it appeared next to him when he was near-death? He obviously didn't know he was in a made-up world at the time.

(at least we now know how Yeon Joo got pulled in lol)

i think he knew for some time now [ i think he expected something more like parralel universes rather than a webtoon]

the way he phrases his words are peculiar to me

even in jail... it keeps subtly hinting that Kang Chul knew more than we think

i think the way KangChul speaks and his choice of words give away some hints

maybe he suspected something from before and on the verge of dying, he just hoped for someone to help him

edit: the prosecutor dude is suspicious as fuck. he has to be connected somehow. he was too keen on death sentence and all. maybe he is another character with a will of his own

I think you are forgetting an important fact: KC is a manhwa character. Even though his world is "awake", he's still a fictional character. The dad, as he said to OYJ, doesn't feel like he's committing a murder but a judgement. Just like KC's world froze when he became aware of himself (and OYJ's voiceover called it a "punishment").

The whole drama is centered around the theme of "Saturn and his son". In the Greek mythology (and later in the Roman mythology with Saturn), Cronos ate his children for fear of being dethroned by one of them just like he dethroned his father Ouranos. Hence why the quote "I'd rather eat than being eaten". In this myth, Cronos ate all of his children with Rhea except one: Zeus. Zeus' mother Rhea exchanged his son with a rock that Cronos ate thinking it was Zeus. In the meantime, Zeus grew up and was brought up in secret by nymphs.

Long story short: Zeus managed to give through his wife Metis Cronos an emetic. Cronos threw up all the children he ate. Zeus built up an army with his brothers and sisters and beat up Cronos.

The real question, I think, is why the dad is afraid of being "eaten" by KC? I think there's more to the story, stuffs we don't know yet. Especially since

In the highlight we can see the dad going into W's world and it has been implied he already entered at least once W's world in the past.

As others have said in the thread, I believe OYJ's world is also fake. If we look at Cronos' myth, we can see that he's also someone else's creation aka Ouranos. Maybe dad somehow overthrew his creator? I wouldn't be too surprised since we still have 12 episodes left so the story might be more complex than we think.

this makes a whole lot of sense. Maybe just as Zeus in the legend, KangChul is the one to get away from his "Cronos". and then we see the rest of the webtoon characters do their own thing without being appointed to do so and maybe that is a hint at the rest of the characters getting awareness and later joining Kang Chul into taking their world in their own hands.

honestly, i don't think OYJ's world is fake. unless this all ends up being a dream or something of the dad under drinking influence when his wife and kid leave him.

i do think however that there is another force empowering the webtoon characters, starting with KangChul and that power that lets them loose scares OYJ's father..

maybe it has something do to with the fact that he isn't the only one making the webtoon. he has his helpers...so maybe he is the only one that wants KangChul dead while the rest of the staff and fans want him alive and that N to 1 odds are not working in his favor.

if OYJ's world turns out to be fake, it would have to have an awesome comeback from it cause that could end up as a major turn off for the drama

oh my god...

someone said maybe she created KangChul... did anyone noticed the drawing she made where she drew a guy and a gun? i think that person was right, she was either the inspiration or the basic drawing for Kang Chul

and omfg... I was right... there was no criminal. the dad just drew up things without context. i guess that's what gave KangChul power

on episode 5

It was such a roller coaster. i kept shaking in enthusiasm and fear alike. I can understand both KangChul and the dad in their fears and heartbreak.

However!

It's one thing to kill a manhwa character by drawing it and another to be in that world and actually put a knife in him. that is when, for me, the dad turned into a real criminal.

And then KangChul... it is beautiful work how he ended up shooting the dad just like his family was shot leaving a mystery for the real world police to find the criminal just like that is a mistery in Kang Chul's world.

I don't know 100% everything the dad said seconds before he was shot, but damn...he kept pushing and pushing

I think KangChul offered a good deal to begin with. if there is no criminal, create one, let me find him so everything can end.

this is what the dad should have done in the first place. i do understand he was freaked out by what was happening.

and her, my god, I dunno how I would react if everything happened to me. if you ask me, she is still TOO chill for the situation she is in.

then again, if i'd wake up one day finding out this life of mine is made up on paper by someone else, i'd be even less chill than KangChul.

what i find despicable with the dad, besides him actually knifing Kang Chul, is that while Kang Chul asked him to put an end to it in a nice way, the dad kept insisting on his own as if he is the ruler of the universe and did nothing wrong. that much arrogance and hatred with the dad when there was a clear cut peaceful way of doing things. i don't understand that. why torture Kang Chul?

i think the story line is amazing. the shooting the dad and discarding the gun just like it happened to his family, jumping himself of the real world bridge into the water like it happened in the made up world... it all comes back like in a full circle

an idea: what if the dad does work out a criminal for manhwa Kang Chul to find and put to jail and that's when the two worlds combine and the shooter of the dad can also be found and Kang Chul ends up going to jail for real, in the real world? everything about this drama seems to be a symmetry of happenings between Kang Chul and the dad and events keep repeating themselves in a similar way like a full circle, maybe the end will be like that to, a full circle where criminals of the both worlds are caught and the two worlds become 1 forever.

this episode was awesome. i think the dad will be fine. i am so excited for episode 6

Someone said So Hee's dissapearing because she's useless to the plot now, idk, there're a lot of useless characters (like anyone other than the person introduced), I think there's more to her dissapearance. I could be wrong tho

i'm suspecting more and more characters are getting a mind of their own

or maybe she is turning to the dark side

fuck my life...there is nothing i can predict with this drama

and that preview... please don't tell me the one the dad will turn into the killer is...........

I just finished ep 8. I'M SHOOK! This ep was so good. I can't really tell what is going to happen next

I was so happy that we can finally get rid of that bitch but no. She should have disappeared... The ending, the ending dheYRO739B4NDHF ...

KDrama revealing yet another method for a second female lead to cling on the male lead. Updated to 2016: disappearing from a webtoon used as emotional blackmail.

i hope its the prosecutor too... i don't think osm would risk his daughters life like that.... if he makes her the killer wouldn't she go back into the manhwa?

lmao the webtoon knew what it was doing... sohee needs to disappear she's disrupting the flow of the real mains relationship

I guess no K drama can help itself from using cliches and the second female lead emotionally blackmails male lead to ditch female lead is part of the sec. f l blackmailing m lead [somehow] to ditch female lead.

I just hope this cliche disappears really soon. maybe they can just make her fall for the bodyguard and the way back. the dad should be able to do it

OH MY GOD

the dad's face was taken by the killer [ he kind of kicked ass as an evil dude tho] and i suspect he could get it back only when the killer dies

and oh my god, she is trapped there again

and fuck... the killer does have free will and is somehow aware of everyone's intention. hopefully, him taking the dad's face means that he won't be aware anymore of what the real world is planning.

and omfg....

this episode ended with a boom

it has 16 episodes and 9 are gone. 7 more episodes and this drama already have more plotwists that a 4 seasons long drama.

i fear they will try to frame Kang Chul for the murders and that there will be no happy ending.

Kang Chul didn't take into consideration the killer's free will, only his own.

OH MY GOD

I spent the day off twitter to avoid spoilers for ep 9 because w was trending, and I'm so glad.

I was literally blown away. The plot of this drama is simple amazing. Its getting better each episode and I don't know what will happen next which surprizes me because with kdramas its usually easy to predict what happens next :ahmagah: this will easily become my favourite drama of 2016 as long as they don't pull a cheese in the trap on us :imstupid: although I wish kang chul didn't lose his memories, hopefully there will be a way to regain them

Edited because I just thought of something. Since the father has no eyes he won't be able to draw which makes whatever happens next completely out of his hands. The web to on is now in the hands of the murderer as long as yeon joo us still in the manhwa

He might tho. Not only he lost his face but his voice now appears just like the killers did. Since the killer could communicate like that through both worlds.. maybe the dad can too now

OMFG!!

I get that the dad is scared senseless... but how does helping the criminal help? if the webtoon does not end, he will never get his face back and Kang Chul being the main will never accept such a stupid plot.

how will they solve all this with the dad now on the evil's side?

fuck my life.

OH MY GOD!!

KangChul's hand disappearing... those this mean he is becoming a supporting character like the preview for ep 12 said? and that manga... is curious how it came with her to Kang Chul's world seeing how the only things that came with her so far where clothes. her drawing the medicine clearly shows that she cannot take objects to his world beside her clothes so how come the manga traveled as well? because it is W connected?

is the dad dead?! did the criminal take over him and now he is just a brain-dead puppet?

if the criminal has a path to the real world...how can she draw without getting hurt?

what does Kang Chul plan? the last time he planned to make it all a dream, it backfired and the criminal used it to his advantage

he doesn't remember but used logic to connect the dots... still.. it was interesting to me how the feelings remained [hence him sometimes tearing up about her though the dream plot cancelled months of his life. if the time was reset, how come his feelings somehow come through?  wouldn't that mean he is far too developed as a human compared to a manga character? shouldn't, then, the criminal plan to make him second lead and disappear amount to nothing?

this drama has 16 episodes. if the confrontation with the criminal is towards the end of 12, we should see something happening in 13 and perhaps the end of the fight in 14. what about the last 2 episodes?

or are they going to pull another rabbit out of the hat and cancel absolutely everything?

YALLLLLLLLLLLL

IM IN CONSTANT PAIN, WHY AM I IN PAIN. W ALWAYS MADE ME IN PAIN. I HAVE CLASS IN 30 MINUTES BUT I HAVEN'T TAKE A BATH NOR EVEN PREPARING FOR IT. I AM SCREWED

anyway. im really sad that he conceals the fact about his hands. This is really not what they meant when they reset the manhwa world. But im pretty sure Kang Chul already connected the dots, he knew that but i guess with one last straw from Oh Yeon Joo he'll grasp the whole idea truly, thus bringing the dimension doors again to his world - as the preview strongly says so - but god damn, im really happy about Do Yeon's loyalty toward Kang Chul. People all turn his back to him but he still stays and try to help him living despite all the leads point at Kang Chul or can i say no help on keep siding this wanted and hated man. PROPS TO HIS LOYALTY I LOVE IT. He just wanted the best for Kang President thats why he suggested Yeon Joo to ask KC to turn himself in.

BUT GOD DAMN again. I think dad literally are the killer puppet, as when Yeon Joo shuts the PC down, his dad passed out after banging in the door continously.

right, i forgot about the phone. tho the item didn't work. it came but it was useless. but the manga wasn't.

i hope it is the story taking control and not the criminal

in the ep 12 preview, the criminal tells him that he intends to make KangChul into just another character so that he would fade. maybe the criminal having puppet daddy makes him more powerful than KangChul's will? or maybe the drama has something waiting for us to blow our minds again.

the plot twists in this drama are amazing.

if it goes on like this, W will become my nr 1 most loved k-drama

But the time change does effect her physically. Remember? At the beginning when two months passed in front of her eyes she fainted ? It is actually tiring for her body.

Maybe this means they'll draw another Kang Chul (from the future), who'll warn the Kang Chul in the past. Or he'll summon/draw himself into the past to prevent the culprit from killing his family.

I'm pretty sure it means that they'll draw him into the manhwa again, so that two Kang Chuls exist. But I am curious how they want to use it.

What if they do draw another Kang Chul to interfere in the past... and that Kang Chul does not have as much will as the original Kang Chul... so Kang Chul gets to escape to the real world while the fake Kang Chul stays in the webtoon?

But, would Kang Chul be willing to leave his friends behind? I don't know... That sounds kind of like a traitor move in my eyes. If he leaves after the webtoon has officially ended that's another case. The webtoon world would prob come to an end and Kang Chul, being aware that this world is not real, will not stay still with the time.

i meant at the end... once the webtoon ends, the fake Kang Chul to remain while the real Kang Chul goes to the world. i didn't mean before the webtoon ends

but the fake kangchul might steal the real kangchul's face again tho

this drama is so complicated....I love it

so I was browsing through the W Two Worlds tag on tumblr and someone just spilled this truth tea

Unless the killer made Seung Moo retcon everything, it makes no sense that the public would suddenly think that Chul shot his father when the killer came out on national TV and basically  revealed himself as the killer before shooting everyone in the station.

i think they are viewing it as two different things

somehow he managed to make people believe Kang Chul was on a goose chase and because he was sick of being framed as the killer of his parents, he killed those at the station

tho yes, it quite possible he made the dad rewrite a lot of things

the drama keeps revealing things in following episodes related to previous ones so who knows.
