When I first saw news of this drama on dramabeans I dismissed this partly because I had no idea who Han HyoJoo was and not a fan of Lee Jong Suk but after starting Dong Yi the other day and loving HHJ in it I thought I'd give this drama a try.

I'm loving the fresh concept to this and think HHJ and LJS are delivering their storylines really well so far. I squealing with happiness and excitement the whole time. I think they'll have great chemistry together when their characters actually interact with each other.

I hope the drama is about to avoid a dud ending where HHJ was just dreaming stuff or her dad died and she just finished off his webtoon in his place etc.

Episode 2 was even better than episode 1 when the bar had already been set so high. I hope Korea gets onto this over the weekend so next week the ratings go up.

I really love the many drawings from key scenes and the random thoughts that go through OYJ's head. I found myself replaying little bits which I very rarely do. HHJ is good with the touch of comedic acting to her scenes. I too love how they make the manga world a bit off reality but not too far fetched. The cinematography and use of music is also on point. The story line itself has many possibilities so the wait until next week is going to kill me.

I just finished ep 2 -I know I'm late, tried dl the whole day and I finally gave up and watched it online-

The questions this drama makes me ask is :

- Could it be Kang Chul is from the real world and somehow got trapped inside the manhwa and became the main character?

I'm asking a lot, #sorry, it's just this drama makes the wheels in my brain run fast. I, and you guys, we are whipped. How can I wait till next week?

That question could be a really good twist. Considering the first time it too yeon Joo a while to work out the moments before her first time in the comic world it could be that Kang chip has just taken 10 years to reach the same conclusion.

At first I thought the sentence "eat him before he eats you" that worked as a spell to make them enter the manhwa's world and the fact that she was near the screen. But 2nd time is a mystery.

2nd time father and daughter were arguing/debating if it was judgement or murder which is kinda similar to the "eat him before he eats you" idea.

But at this point in time I think I'll go for the idea that when Kang chul's life is in danger that's when Yeon Joo goes to the comic world.

Is it true that Kang Chul will get to the real world? I wonder what his reason will be.

Grrr, so once he's out of danger, she would never go there?

I think one teaser showed that only Yeon Joo could go to the comic world, he can't go to the real world.

I've been thinking, if OYJ decided at the end to stay in the comic world, won't that mean the story (manhwa) will never end since she's a free willed person. Okay, this makes me believe more in Kang Chul being real and trapped inside the manhwa, since he's been deciding on his own, and 'the creator" can't control him.

I want to add that I already dislike So Hee.

same, just because the two leads have beyond amazing chemistry and I don't need a useless third wheel to deal with.

IKR!!! I saw that too!!! Mindblown!!!

Yep~ haha. Their setup is very similar to the kind that you can see In a lot of other works - the first thing that would come to mind for me would be Tony and Pepper from Iron Man, haha. Like I said in my other post, lol, if I were one of the readers of W, I probably would have been shipping them. XD

I also wonder how their dynamic will change (including the bodyguard, lol, since they're pretty much the W trio haha), and I suppose we'll be seeing that next week because YJ will be staying in the other universe for longer. ^^

Always meant to reply to this post, but I kept forgetting~ hehe. IKR? I'm also wondering what the ending of the drama would be like. Something's going to have to give! Tbh, I'd find it pretty interesting if YJ ends up deciding to stay in Chul's world~ haha.

Tbh, I've also been trying to think about why YJ's dad has to kill Chul, and why he ended up losing control. It makes me wonder if there's another person that was also involved in the creation of the manhwa, or what YJ's dad has to lose provided that things in the other universe begin to escalate even further. Hm...

The comic art is so great! I love it. They should release a limited edition version of the drama as an actual comic.

This so much. They could easily monetise on this if they avoid turning the drama into a mess after such a great start.

Two more days until subs for new episode comes out. 5 days has never felt so long

About the hand that pulls yeon Joo in. I thought in one of the hotel and rooftop live action cut we saw the same guy that killed Kang chuls family. It would be quite the plot twist if the prosecutor has already broken the fourth wall and knows someone is using him to kill people even though he's a prosecutor or he know who the killer is and using extra help to get justice, but I doubt it. I'm more inclined to think it was Kang chuls will to live that pulled yeon Joo in. That said though I hope the prosecutor makes another reappearance since he's a rally good actor.

how does kang chul know oyj is invincible and cant be killed? do you think he tried shooting her while she was sleeping? lol

her last monologue about her being the new lead of the manhwa gave me goosebumps

Those last few lines from OYJ left me floored and squealing uncontrollably. The only reason why I have faith OYJ will get back to the real world after the PC was smashed is because KC eventually has a few moments in the real world too.

I agree that so far this drama creates more questions than it answers. I definitely feel that KC was up to a point a reflection of the father. You don't get divorced overnight it's a gradual process and from the time KC lost his family to the point at the Han river is probably a reflection of the Oh family prior to the divorce, moving out and life after moving out. It's the only way I can make sense of the mother being somewhat hostile to her sister in episode 2 about leaving the ship too early and her lack of emotion when watching the new on the rise of W and the webtoon creator. It makes me think that the mother knows whats really up and had seen the signs much earlier on.

The ratings went up as expected and I'm sure they'll go up even more tomorrow. So far there is nothing that this drama is lacking. From a plot perspective its got comedy, romance, mystery and fantasy. Different characters take on the narrating part adding more substance to more characters. The directing, editing and music is also on point. episode 3 felt like it was only 10 minutes long.

:la: So glad for the ratings increase! Let's keep going up!

I definitely agree with you! I've also been feeling that the father invested a lot of himself into KC, particularly until that bridge scene. I can't wait to see what role the mom has to play because I'm sure that she's got more to do with the story as well. Also, I think this episode did a good job of showing why YJ's dad would be so horrified with his creation because damn it all the webtoon channel changes were horror movie worthy, lol. XD

I watched it again and feel like the mother definitely has a bigger role in the overarching plot than we're led to believe. On second viewing I started wondering if she was the killer of KC family and either the father keeps using her not knowing its her or there is more than one killer in W. This drama is so unpredictable anything is possible.

It also amuses me to think that later in the series there will likely be moments when they want to kiss and will have to think creatively to evade the “to be continued†chyron.

a comment from drama beans

Didn't think of this. I can't wait to see KC and OYJ working together to make their time together longer.

How Oh Yeon Joo sleeps, real worlds vs. manhwa

true representation of expectation vs reality. Either way she's still pretty.

I was never a fan of LJS but this drama is starting to make me reconsider my old views. I seriously can't wait for episode 4 subs. I've never been so wrapped up in a drama that was still airing.

OMG I'm so dumb, I wrote can the first time but after posting it, I read "can" and forgot the "don't" and edited it  I don't think they'll have a happy ending

I think they'll have a bittersweet ending. I'd rather Kang chul give up his Manhwa world and be a modern version of Pinocchio minus the lying and everything else.

Once again another 1hour episode feeling like it was only 10mins long. This drama is just too good.

the tone of the drama definitely changed since OYJ got caught by the police. I don't think well be seeing anymore hilarious attempts to escape the webtoon world anymore *sadface* I think comedic relief is going to be coming predominantly from SooBong now.

I knew that the prosecutor was going to be making another appearance. I think he'll be the one to pull KC back into the webtoon even though KC now knows the truth about that world.

just watched 4th episode again and had a thought about the ending of the drama. It's either going to be a sad ending where KC and OYJ stay in their respective worlds, a bittersweet ending where one of the characters give up their own world for the other or a happy ending where a 3rd world exists that KC+OYJ+maybe everyone else can escape to.

So far when watching this drama and thinking about the two worlds I keep thinking a bit about the worlds in the Japanese novel by 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami.

I feel like episode 5 answered a lot of questions and at the end it really felt like if this had been a different drama would be having the final episode airing tonight.

I don't think the killer can be mocked up into anyone, they still managed to disappear into thin air in the lift.

I'm not surprised that kid YJ made a drawing that was practically a prototype of KC unless of course all she did was copy something her dad had drawn. But maybe even copying made a connection between KC and YJ that is stronger than the one between KC and the father.

Given how quickly the plot has progressed and just how smug and dickish YJ's Dad was i am wondering if the real world is also a webtoon and written by YJ's Dad with YJ as the main character after she dies as a child. Some of the events are likely real from her Dad's life and this was his way to cope with the loss.

So its a fake world within another fake world. Kinda like the movie the 13th floor with Virtual computer program worlds.

Not familiar with that movie but I've been thinking for a while of the book atonement as well. From memory the novel itself is a book within a diary or something with a changed account of event to right wrongs or the past. I can picture the dad doing all this to atone for something and possible taking away the opportunity to love and be loved from OYJ

Ratings 160803:

#WTwoWorlds : 13.5%

#UncontrollablyFond : 8.2%

#Wanted: 5.2%

Cr: kdrama_news

TBH I'm disappointed that still haven't reached 15% yet. This drama's concept is so different from the run of the mill dramas and everything about it is top notch. Even if it's people insisting they won't watch it because of HHJ's brother's incident I still would have expected ratings to be higher.

I really want to know what the k-netzs are thinking about episode 5. I'm also waiting on drama beans to post a recap and read all the comments afterwards. I'm always fascinated by the different things that other people pick up and put a bit more importance to than I would've by myself.
