InfectiousKpop 3,098
I've never thought that GOT7 had a definitive sound to them. At least, not so far. They kind of change it up every comeback, which is great. They're finding their own unique sound.
ryokonicheiress 5,833
They don't have a signature sound imo, which is something I appreciate it. I like the diversity in their tracks. I've enjoyed all of their korean singles and some of their japanese singles because of the versatility in sound. Their tracks are feel good if anything, even If You Do to a point. Iron Girl 3,768
maybe because in the past JYP produced all their title tracks? the company always try to put a JYP song as their title track because that's how it was with their previous groups. I think they learn from their mistake/obsession, Twice is the first group from JYPE to debut with a non JYP song and they are doing very great (technically it's DAY6 but the boys composed their songs since day 1). it's really funny when people talk about "GOT7 style" when they never had their own sound until now. from their first japanese album and fightlog to their previous albums, you can see a difference. they debuted as a "hip hop" group which was the biggest mistake ever. then they are said to be able to put different sounds/concepts each comeback. it was true with the contrast of Just Right and If You Do. the members had the opportunity to have a saying in the songs and concept of this album. so to judge the "GOT7 style" I think the best is to listen to their next album. about Fly, you comment is understable. I always think the arrangement is weak but the music really great (as listened in the trailer). it's a song that grown on you each listen. never except deep or mind blowing title track from a JYPE group, they like to make it mainstream. Forever_Ahgase 4,115
I love that they change it up every comeback. They know how to make their music appeal to a wider audience.

Angel_Nessa 11,378
I'm so tired of people repeating the same thing. I don't like to make comparisons, but let's go. GOT7 change their style each cb - so does Red Velvet, or people gonna say now that happiness, be natural, ICC, dumb 2x and one of these nights sound the same or similar? Red Velvet is a experimental group, GOT7 don't have a color. ok. GOT7 need a break thru song - people a mean a song that swept charts? JYP boygroups are not the type to swept digital charts. A break thru song, well, if I ask here what's VIXX break thru song, many will say "Voodoo Doll" or "Error", so Voodoo doll sold 170,170, Error sold 173,382 and GOT7 A sold 189,354 and Just Right sold 161,644. - A, Just Right were GOT7 break thru songs, personally I consider Just Right. people want GOT7 to be a chart killer like YG and SM groups, go stan their groups then. Don't keep bothering with this "digital chart" thing. They're selling albums, and that's good. end

Don't keep bothering with this "digital chart" thing. They're selling albums, and that's good. end Here's where you are wrong about red velvet. Red velvet was made to be a group with two different sides "the red" and "the velvet" and that's very evident in their music and has been like that from the start. Got7 on the other hand is just all over the place. First they're a "hip hop" group, then they're a fun pop group (something I"m sad they didn't stick with), then they tried to do the "bad boy" style, and while the song was good, it didn't really suite got7's talents (ex.: they don't have hard hitting vocals or rappers to pull off the bad boy style. still loved the song though). I can understand you being frustrated with people always saying that your group has no style but that just means they should settle on one first. It seems like they're going back to the "hip hop" style they had at debut, so I guess that's their decided style. Breakout song, is something that only 3 or 4 groups have had in the past 5-6 years. And having a song that sells 100k-200k is not a breakout song. It's really hard to come by. And if your group hasn't had one they haven't had one. As an army it's the only thing that people can hold against us at this point (even though "I need u" was like 600k+), even though I know it's coming this May. But at the same time the people are right and it's something I can't deny. We haven't had a huge breakout hit yet and facts are facts. Same goes for Got7, and I don't think Vixx has had a breakout song. And I don't think people believe a breakout song is one that sells around 200k. Pretty much everyone thinks a breakout song is like 1million+ for downloads. Maybe Got7 will have one in April because I heard they're having another comeback then. Pretty much everyone thinks a breakout song is like 1million+ for downloads. Maybe Got7 will have one in April because I heard they're having another comeback then. GOT7 changing in style can be explained easily. The boys already talked about it. Since from debut, GOT7 wanted a more mature style just like 2PM, but GOT7 debuted with 3 underage members, and 2 of them (Yugyeom and especially Bambam) looking like teens. When 2PM debuted, the youngers had a more mature look, so JYP made them the beastly-dols. Girls 3x was not a bad song, but it worked somehow considering the fact the group had a lot of attention on their debut and their song sold well in comparison to their regular digital sales. JYP couldn't stick with the hip hop concept bc the rapper line was not so strong and the members looked too young, so JYP jumped to the bright (cute) concept, and GOT7 found their style, A and Just Right are really similar in concepts. GOT7 wanted a more mature song and they choose a song that 2PM and 15& Jimin wanted to sing: Stop Stop It, but at that time in late 2014, they were not ready to portray a mature style. GOT7 delayed their cb 8 months, the hyper around them had gone down bc the long time away from Korean broadcasts and media, so JYP said to them to come back with a concept that suited them the most: bright (cute) concept, so they came back with Just Right. Just Right was not a top digital song, but from the song on GOT7 got more fans. GOT7 again tried a more mature style, bc as I said, GOT7 members want to follow 2PM style, so they came back with the dark concept of If You Do, but despite all the love for GOT7 mature looks, a lot of fans didn't like GOT7 singing a song with lyrics that was totally a 2PM style. Fly is a song that stays in the middle of bright and mature. GOT7 knows what they want: a 2PM style, but their fans don't see them with 2PM concept yet. Their B sides songs are more mature, but the title song is still a problem.
