Symptoms' original title was "Dead Ass serious"

I'm guessing that was the title for the song they bought the rights to?

Symptoms wasn't bought? unless you mean a demo which  doesn't normally have a title I think

Really? Then why do I see a bunch of very Western names behind the title "Original Writer".

because SM doesn't stick to in-house producers

(edited my original comment btw)

Original WRITER. Not producer.

oh sorry. but yeah same for that too. SM likes using westerners LOL they use Koreans too tho (They don't have a big in-house crew so it's common)

Yeah I think it might have been... although I guess it depends on how it was made. If it was before SM contacted him/them or after.

who knows  Doesn't make a difference to me tbh (whether it was a demo ordered by SM specifically for SHINee or if SM found it after it was made). Either way demos made to be sold (unless the composer is a singer planning to use it for himself).. it's not the same as say buying the rights to a song that was already released & sold to the public. unless an artist self-composed a track, they're using a composer's demo (whether the composer working in-house or not).

It's kinda strange for them to give us the title of the demo tho LOL

yeah it surprised me too

and I agree, was just trying to understand why they'd put a project/provisional name there, maybe the composer/writer really wanted that name

It's important for song credit and royalty payments.

The original writers and composer want to be credited officially because it gives them show other companies as a sort of resumé. Without that official credit it's a lot tougher to sell yourself as a writer/composer.

Yes, but do they usually provide the original song title?

she's talking about the title, not the composers names  :derp:

I don't know if that's SOP but it might help the writer if another company wants to hear the original song.

oh could be! it's not common tho  heck I didn't even know demos had official titles! a lot of the times demo's lyrics are just jumbled words that don't mean anything in particular haha
