xyz 43
Love my SNES - its still works! Come to think of all my nintendo products still work, very good build quality. As for games, my fave ones that I physically own include Zelda: ALTTP, Super Mario All Stars, Super Mario World, FF6, DK country, Yoshi Island and Super Metroid. Other great ones i play on emulator I own a few others but since I was a small kid at the time I didnt have too many games (though Im glad my uncle helped choose my games since they are easily some of the best around). The only bad thing is that a couple of games have no functioing battery to save data onto so I cant re play them (unless i want to do 20+ hours in one sitting). All the games you named are among my favourites. I spent hours playing to these games and I felt so sad when I finished the masterpiece that is FF6  I would add Secret of Mana (one of the best games ever made IMO), Secret of Evermore, FF: Mystic Quest and FF IV to the list. I also really enjoyed playing Donkey Kong Country 2 and 3, Super Double Dragon and TMNT IV: Turtles in Time with my two brothers. I was also really young at the time, but since I have an older brother, I own a bunch of games. It really sucks that you can't save while playing to some of your games. Fortunately, emulators exist

Meigitsune 2,999
Well, it looks like Nintendo's pulling a Sega: http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/16/nintendo-mass-claims-revenue-from-youtube-lets-play-videos/ It may not seem like much, but this is going to cause a pretty big backlash against Nintendo and to their sales since so many people now a days like to watch let's plays before deciding to buy a game or not, not to mention how pissed a lot of big name solo game reviewers are like TotalBiscuit and Day9. Timo 76
I actually understand Nintendo in their decision. They're not saying to stop people from streaming their games, they're putting a cap per session and/or running their own commercials on them. I think it's really a weird gray zone as it is with Let's Plays. Some Youtube channels make thousands of dollars per months with streaming content from Nintendo, it's understandable that Nintendo wants some of that. Compare it to reuploading a whole movie on Youtube (with or without commentary) and then making money of off that, none of which goes to the creators of that movie?? That's crazy! There is definitely something to be said for Nintendo in this case imo. I can understand the appeal of gaming channels, and walkthroughs on youtube can be handier compared to the written version but ... yeah. I don't think it will hurt sales. If anything, people I know sometimes won't even bother buying games and just watch people play them on Youtube (something I don't understand). Not to mention certain forced and scripted wannabe humoristic gaming channels. So a cap, or some regulations, won't hurt anyone I think.
JimmyTutron 2,096
lol this is not gonna affect sells. Most people who watch let's plays don't even buy the games. and they've already released a statement Nintendo issued Game Front the following statement: As part of our on-going push to ensure Nintendo content is shared across social media channels in an appropriate and safe way, we became a YouTube partner and as such in February 2013 we registered our copyright content in the YouTube database. For most fan videos this will not result in any changes, however, for those videos featuring Nintendo-owned content, such as images or audio of a certain length, adverts will now appear at the beginning, next to or at the end of the clips. We continually want our fans to enjoy sharing Nintendo content on YouTube, and that is why, unlike other entertainment companies, we have chosen not to block people using our intellectual property. and it's not like their video is being taken down. You can keep it you just won't get revenue from ads.

That's the thing though, people do videos and stuff like that for a living, they live off of ads they make from having thousands of people watch the video and get the advertisements and it will also deter people from getting into doing videos over Nintendo games, which doesn't really hurt anyone but Nintendo. It just makes no sense as why they would put up these relegation's after all the flak Sega got for doing it. The people doing the video have already paid for the game itself, it's not as though they are stealing in any way. Really the way it may hurt sales is just the fact that Nintendo is willing to do something like this to paying customers who bought their game and are just trying to show the game to others... If they're using Nintendo's content to make a living they should contact Nintendo and work out an agreement to split ad revenue. Most Let's Players make their videos for fun anyways. If they enjoy a game and want to share it, they're going to do it regardless of if they get money for it. And I fail to see how this will hurt Nintendo in anyway other than a bunch of people on the internet crying foul. Nintendo franchises have always sold in the millions, so if users do decides to stop making videos it wouldn't even leave a dent in sales. Microsoft and SEGA choose to completely remove videos and block users who used copyrighted content. Nintendo is only taking ad space for videos over a certain length and are allowing users to keep their videos. I don't see what the big deal is. They aren't using Nintendo's content to make a living, they are making their own content using their materials. I don't think there are any Let's Plays that are simply footage of the game being played, and even if there was the players themselves are playing the game. It's going to hurt them on the basis that Nintendo is doing something like this just to take the revenue from people that make content while playing one of their games. It won't make a big dent, no, but it will still leave a sour taste in a lot of peoples mouths over the fact that they did something that very few businesses have done;stripping away the ability for people to make content based on games that a lot of people love. It's not as big deal as what Sega did, not yet at least.
JimmyTutron 2,096
frankly I could care less if this causes bad press. SEGA did it last year. Microsoft did it last year. Ubisoft has been doing it for sometime. I'm pretty sure half the industry does it or will do it sooner or later. So far nothing has happened to Let Players and they continue to make videos. This is just another reason for people online to complain about Nintendo. No one else is gonna care about this and in a few month people will forget it happened. Stevie Wonder's Anus 73
You gotta go in ND's with low expectations. especially with the confirmation that it will only be about spring/summer games.Good to see more pikman footage and usually I wouldn't be excited for a Mario/Sonic Oylmpic game but that looks really fun. Also interested in the new sonic game. Cool seeing those mario chars in HD on Wii U. Now we have no ND fillers in the way until the bombs will be dropped. News on 3D Mario, Smash bros, Mario Kart, etc are confirmed to be revealed b4 E3 starts btw. and then we'll be seeing some gameplay and being able to play a demo at best buy(Although I wish they would just put a free demo on eshop)..but still better than nothing. silicon soul 19,457
lol xbox one Are their names really Mario Mario & Luigi Mario? Yeah it's true. It's been mentioned a few times in things like "did you know"s, Nintendo memorabilia (I found out in a sort of mario encyclopaedia I used to own when I was younger) and even as a joke in the satanically shit mario bros film. Even the name "The Mario Brothers" implies this. But it's more trivia since they never use their surnames. Now here's another fact

I remember a scene where they were having a conversation about it. i got my DS back from my friend yesterday! Gonna play some DQ after i finish up Digital Devil Saga. And probably a Castlevania along with it.
