That would be AMAZING \O/

They should have jumped on buying Atlus when they had the chance, now Capcom would be great for them \O/ Mega Man on the Wii U would be the best, it would also give them some great exclusives.

Yea! It would be amazing! the best resident evil I played was the Gamecube one.. Hands down! so imagine having Resident evil as a Wii U exclusive! :O

I saw your call for all Nintendo fans, so here I am!

Oh, I'm not a huge Resident Evil fan. Tried playing it on the old Playstation many years ago and couldn't get further than the first dogs that jumped me. I'm terrible with horror games  :imstupid:

Btw I finished Earthbound like two days ago! It was so amazing, I really LOVE that game! I can't believe I never played it before.

Hi! And welcome! do you own a wii u?

Omg I didn't know there was a Nintendo thread! Hello everyone! I really love Nintendo games and consoles.

I should probably ask here if anyone else listens to the NVC up at IGN? I need to find the others, somewhere out in the vast internet. And if you haven't checked it out before, I would definitely put it out that it's the best Nintendo related pod cat out there and you should check it out!

I would love if Nintendo owned exclusive rights to their IPs, and out of the big gaming companies, if there was a company I would want to buy Capcom out, it would be Nintendo. But I don't see that as really possible or even beneficial to Nintendo, and I can't see them doing it. They already have Monster Hunter as an exclusive, and apart from that, I don't really know of any franchises that would make acquiring the studio as being a profitable move.

So yeah, I dunno.

Did anybody here manage to get their hands on the MK8 bundle? i got my pay check only to learn that they had all sold out Grrrs

Hi! And welcome! Amm yea I listen to the IGN podcast.. But I do not like it that much they keep making predictions and how nintendo needs to "fix itself" that are not really warranted.. The game pad is freakin amazing and the best controller ever! They just make me mad! I love the older guy.. I tend to agree with everything he says

I disagree there, what about Megaman, Street Fighter, Devil May Cry, Okami, Ace Attorney, and like someone mentioned earlier, Resident Evil?

It has a number of iconic and profitable IPs, and Nintendo could use more IPs.

I didn't get the bundle, I already got a Wii U, shame cause I really wanted that Mario hat, I lost my last one D:

Iconic.. Definitely .. Profitable.. Not so much.. They have been losing money since 2011.. However their IPs still have quote a lot of potential.. I would love nintendo to get their hands on capcom.. Here are the pros and cons of this

Pro: nintendo will be gaining over 20 relatively successful IPs at their disposal..

Pro: nintendo will gain a lot of man power and programmers because Capcom is one of the biggest companies in the game.. So imagine all their games being focused only on nintendo

Con: it's gonna be worth a lot of money.. The fact that it doesn't work out could potentially ruin nintendo as well.. And god knows nintendo are not in a position to take big risks.. It's too big of a gamble..

Con: by doing so you will be cutting capcoms sales by at least 60% because you are eliminating all the multiplatform opportunities and if they're not doing well now they will definitely be doing worse later on..

Pro: if done right it could prove to be a very powerful company to have at your side..

Megaman could finally make a comeback in a great way.. With the help of nintendo's innovation

Street fighter would be a nintendo only exclusive and a legit title and not a filler one like the ones we've been getting for the past 6 years..

Devil may cry.. We will have to see how bayonetta does first because it's basically similar overthetop gaming mechanisms. And actions.. But if it does well that one could do well as well

Monster hunter is already doing amazing with nintendo selling over 3 million copies in less than a year.. And that's in Japan only..

Ace attorney is also doing pretty great with nintendo especially with the professor Layton cross over

Okami could do really well with their art style fitting nintendo so freakin well.. They could turn it into the game journey that was absolutely beautiful..

Resident evil could go either way.. They could shy away from the first person shooter gameplay and go back to its roots continue to fake it as a first shooter until they make it..

I haven't been keeping up with games much, but didn't they make a lot of stupid decisions? Like cancelling two megaman games? Also, I heard they messed up on the latest DmC game by changing the main characters look and taking it in a whole new direction, and that whole Ult Marvel vs Capcom thing, I don't think bad management would be the games fault.

But yeah that's what I meant by profitable, it has potential to sell really well, if something is as well known as the Megaman or Street Fighter series, it can make you a lot of money, you just have to market it well and with someone like Nintendo behind them, I can see it working.

I just hope Microsoft doesn't buy it OTL

Microsoft can't buy it.. I read that there is a Law in Japan that forbids Japanese companies being taken over by international ones.. Also Mega man wasn't selling well since like 2004? I think.. that was their last profitable game.. and I'm not too familiar with DmC but it really did well.. The reboot was successful actually and he looks epic!

Dayum. Those look amazing. I'm not surprised they sold out quickly!

Omg, I actually started replaying Mario Galaxy 2 yesterday! Gorgeous game in every respect. You're a lucky bastard for getting the soundtrack, and now I am officially not afraid to categorize myself as extremely jealous.

Speaking of awesome Mario figures, what are your guy's thoughts on Amiibo? I know that I would rather starve than wait to get my heads on the Link and Zelda ones, because they look pretty cool. But I'm not really sold on their integration with smash bros. it'd be really neat to have them integrate with Mario kart though!

Hey there! Aww that sucks, but I guess everyone has different reasons to be listening to it. Confession: I actually really like how they balance it out with some criticism? But thats just me and liking everything to be as analytical as possible, and I find that the IGN podcast really does well with a journalistic format as opposed to the more fan biased approach they had with Aubrey and the previous Nintendo team. Plus I think they are hilarious. One of the guys was talking about his first ever experience with a Pokemon game at the age of thirty years old and it was just way too funny.

Oh and the old guy, lol I feel sort of bad for calling him that, is Peer Schneider. I totally agree, he knows his stuff, and I like how he kind of helps to rein in a lot of overly confident predictions of doom. He's actually the cofounder of IGN, and he has a lot of experience, plus he used to run a Nintendo dedicated site so he really knows a lot about the company's history.

I like the game pad as well! But I have to agree with the general sentiment that there really isn't a game that shows why it's necessary except maybe for something like pushmo world. I actually do not own a wii u, I have been working all summer and only recently got my pay check but yeah as aforementioned, when I went to go get the bundle it had already sold out at my local game store and I was told that they were never going to restock it either.

Grrs. But I will most likely get it once I go down to a bigger city and can maybe get a better deal, or even get a bundle. I really want to try out pikmin 3. I've nerve tried that franchise before but from what I have seen of the gameplay it looks really fun.

lol The main problem I have with it.. is the fact that they target the casual gamer.. You know? Always criticizing Nintendo and they need to get their shit together and stuff.. I got in so many discussions with people about nintendo.. and everything they say is straight out of IGN.. and Jose Otero should NOT be the new face of nintendo at IGN he is seriously not good at his job.. he tries to be the devils advocate a little too much.. and If you watch his interview with Reggie.. he comes off as an asshole to be honest.. I seriously do not like him.. He is actually the real reason why I dislike the podcast..

As for the general notion of the Game Pad.. I agree.. The past couple of games did not incorporate the gamepad in the gameplay.. Which is actually fine by me.. Since its only the beginning of its life cycle.. I believe in nintendo.. Remember when the 3DS came out and everyone said the same thing about the 3D.. how it did not actually add anything to the gameplay.. and look at it now.. its like the best selling console in 2013.. The Wii U just needs more time.. but it will get there..

I thought about getting Wind Waker for a split second because I had it when I was like 8 and didn't get far into the game....but I didn't get it.

Its amazing.. so nostalgic for me.. Although I never finished the game because Pokemon came out like a few weeks later..

So far my favorite game on Wii U is Super Mario 3D World..

http://www.gamezone.com/news/2014/08/14/rumor-nintendo-planning-a-big-remake-in-2015-for-wii-u-games-releasing-monthly-in-2015

What do you guys think of this?? Do you think its legit??

I want Mario Sunshine!!! Please >_< Give me mario sunshine! but it seems like itll either be Mario Galaxy 1&2 or a Zelda game.. :\

if they were to release a monthly game in 2015.. here are the games that are already announced

  1. Splatoon
  2. Yoshi's woolly world
  3. Legend Of Zelda Wii U
  4. Mario Party 10
  5. Xenoblade
  6. Fire Emblem x Shin Megami Tensei
  7. Starfox Wii U
  8. Devil's Third

(I don't know about these games but they seem like E-shop games tbh..)

  1. Project Giant Robot/ Project Guard
  2. Kirby the clay one*
  3. Mario Maker

Seems likely tbh It makes me so excited! 2014 was so bleak tbh.. so far we only had Donkey Kong Country, Mario Kart & Wii Sports club.. literally thats it

I'm anticipating hyrule warriors, but I want a FE and warriors crossover 10x more now that I think about it tbh.

I had the exact same thought tbh.. It makes total sense to have it for Fire Emblem.. Tons of characters to play as and so much more variety.. Although I am excited to play as Midna.. But I feel like they could have used this to really integrate Fire Emblem to the US audience and not only Japan.. Not to mention coming after the Amazing FE:A..

So Smash Bros is confirmed for November 21st with Amiibo's first wave of 12 figures coming the same day.. And the Captain Toad Game is confirmed for December 5th in the US!

I'm so excited for the next Nintendo Direct!! We haven't had a legit one since E3! And this one will be coming within the next few weeks basically around the time of Bayonetta's release

At around 6:40 in the clip, the Nintendo producer talks about the collaboration with PlatinumGames for Bayonetta 2:
"I don't know how much I can say. I can't really reveal anything. But let me say you can definitely look forward to what is coming."

Do you think they are planning on developing another game for nintendo? I personally want nintendo to buy out Platinum games.. It could be a internal development team working on the Action RPG-esque games we all love

*disappointed*

Now that it all sunk in.. I'm kinda a bit alright with what we got.. Most of the other conferences were talking about like late 2016 and just first announcements.. where as Nintendo had 3 different directs in a matter of a month with all games coming in Spring 2016 at the latest ^^  so I'm kinda content now lol..
