Ravie 1,256 Posted March 28, 2016 Share Posted March 28, 2016 Idk why people need to compare it with Signal, if you watch enough Western and Japanese procedural drama, Signal can be seen as somewhat slow and familiar, it's great , it just it's not the only good show out there. I think people just love the feeling of rightness in this drama, who doesn't want to support nice good thing and humanity? Nice things is still nice Yoo shi jin as character is that corny guy, not everyone taste, not that perfect (well at the drama , he almost perfect in all military thing), Kang Mo Yeon is strong and dependable woman, there's not much to hate in the drama, it's overall a good entertainment that can satisfy broader audience, not just "the critics", not everyone turn tv to watch some mystery and heart thumping unraveling scenario, some people just want to relax and isn't that why variety is so popular? this drama get both and the beautiful directing, sets not to mention the visual. bananabrows 2,169 Posted March 28, 2016 Share Posted March 28, 2016 maybe it's because i picked up dots right after signal that the latter initially came off too romance-heavy but now i'm appreciating it for what it is. tbh i adore the chemistry between the two main couples + movie-like cinematography + (relative) lack of engrish. i love both dramas. HECK no, should put credits to all DOTS cast, especially crews & production who successfully made this drama.. not only SJK.. Smh 6. This is the first time I have seen people stating that 'DOTS is not that great, or x drama is better' I mean I have no intention watching DOTS at first because I hate war, action like series or movies. However, articles and majority of the ol users in my timeline in any social site are watching it, so I decided to give it a try. And all I can say is that it's all worth it, it totally deserves the ratings and the hype. I swear people who think that this drama is overrated is simply bs, I mean the cinematography and the actors who portrayed their roles did a really great job. It's fascinating because this drama manage to balance out romance, comedy and action. I doesn't give me this depressing feels or anything. There are so many drama genre out there, just bc one doesnt find dots impressive doesnt mean that his/her own opinion is enough to discount everybody else's opinion of the srama. And fact is a lot of people like dots enough to tune and make a difference. Signal is a great detective drama, but compare to America detective drama, it has its flaws.
