Yoona just generally appears friendly while Krystal is more cold/chic. But yeah. If one looks plain then so does the other because they do look alike. YoonA and Krystal's resemblance is minor in my opinion, but it's not an exaggeration when people say there's girls all over the street who carry that same "plain" but traditional look so naturally you learn to differentiate. I find because Krystal perhaps has a different background and more foreign personality she may be able to spice things up to appeal more to an international audience. Her eyes are less sharp, her nose is less prominent, her face line is less angular and more egg like...she just doesn't have anything "hard" to balance the softness of her face, and for some, I think that equates to being plain.
