when someone asks your grade...

No, because it's usually people who are insecure or take their grades really seriously that always ask. I know this girl from my class that is a really great student, but she's a little snobby about great. She doesn't mean to though, it comes out of her own worries. So when she was crying over getting a 90-something and asked me what my grade was when I got perfect... I lied and said I got a score lower.

Besides, who really cares about white lies? It's a small thing to lie over, and it's a small lie, no harm done.

You should be proud of your grades. If someone, that doesn't have the same good grades that you have, asks you and you answer honestly, it could be a motivation for them.  :)

Modesty is not about underestimating your achievements, but knowing your limitations and not pretending that you're more than what you actually are.

i tell the truth; if its a good grade then cool (i dont like that it makes ppl feel bad but it never crossed my mind to lie... ) if its not then i can bond and laugh with everyone else who did horribly. i basically just show people my paper so theres no way to lie, really

I hate disclosing my grades, whether I did good or bad.  I especially hate it when people discuss grades in front of me. Even when I scored the highest on one of our exams, I feel good about it, but I hate discussing it. When poeple ask about it, I'll tell them how I fared. But when they have nothing else to talk about, I get pissed. I don't know why. It's not like our grades would get any better or worse if we knew someone scored higher or lower than us.
