‘Descendants of the Sun’ going viral in North America + Reaches 1 Billion Views in China

The KBS2 drama series “Descendants of the Sun,†hit the North American continent, following its explosive popularity in Korea and China.

 

The American video streaming website Viki-- the only provider of the drama in the region -- reported on Wednesday that the it has topped the list of most viewed videos out of more than 50 other dramas aired.

 

“Descendants of the Sun†is currently open to the public with subtitles in over thirty languages available, often translated by users of Viki themselves.

 

Despite the fact that the videos are only provided to those who pay a monthly fee of $3.99, it has been going viral, even leading to a huge increase in commercial users.

KBS2 Wednesday-Thursday drama 'Descendants of the Sun,' which is broadcasted on the same time in China, is super popular.

 

According to Chinese video site Iqiyi, 'Descendants of the Sun' reached 1 billion views after weekend.

 

Teaser of episode 9 reached more than 19,000,000 views.

Its not as cheesy as Man from The Star, it has more epic scene that suit movie's cinematography, no words for the scenery + Song-song couple charms, its just melt your heart, i said its well deserved for amazing production so far

I'm one of those people who don't like the drama.....i guess because of shg.....i can't stand her acting...

You mean SHK?? Most of DOTS troopers (fans) never get disappointed w/ her acting skills. TBVH  :fyeah:

 

You may never seen her previous dramas before..

Actually, you can watch DoTS on Viki without a Viki pass...you just have to watch them days later than people who have a Viki pass.
