For me they are both gorgs, but i think his face fits the idol standards more than the actors? His visuals are not as mature but they are definitely different from idols, he just would stand out too much as an idol. But, to answer OP. If for some reason, he did choose being an idol...well he'd obviously succeed. His visuals are on another level even among actors, so as an idol he'd be the very top visual. In addition, he has vocal talent so he would have public respect and love. His personality fits their standards too- sweet, shy, mysterious, polite gentleman, he wouldn't be fun on variety but he'd have an alluring aura and be a stan attractor as well.
