Myth 6,602
From personal experience, my ISP did throttle me at first when they started cracking down.. earlier in the year, I think. But then they stopped caring and I torrent with no problem.

evil4life 3,270
if ur that afraid then don't seed ANYTHING that's where they can get you, just hit and run. that's my rule for anything Western, but for Asian releases i remember i downloaded like 200gb in a month and was seeding hundreds of torrents and I didn't get one single letter and never have. onieyez 425
most big internet companies start to throttle you at 250gb-350gb a month and they don't have to tell you if they are throttling you
Myth 6,602
besides your internet connection slowing down...did they send a warning first? how long did they throttle you? a full billing cycle? I don't handle the internet bill, but as far as I'm aware, there were no warnings. I'm sure my brother would have bitched at me if they sent one. They only throttled my connection for as long as I kept my BitTorrent client running.

Mako Yagami 4,462
Best time to torrent is night time for me and various other people I have asked before. In regards to letters and whatnot, it depends on your ISP. My ISP don't give two shits as long as they get paid every month lol. But whenever I download a recent movie or music by western artists I use Peerblock so that it minimizes my chances of being watched by other prying eyes. Realistically it doesn't do much but it makes me feel better to see so many connections being blocked when I torrent. Usually older movies, anime, and foreign music is overlooked by most ISP's. But again, it really depends on your ISP and what they let fly or not. If you've pirated tons of stuff before and are still doing it then you should be good. If you ever get a letter then I suggest you switch ISP's or think about getting a VPN service... Comcast is the worst ISP to have if you torrent. Rio224 300
okay, I'm getting curious about this torrent thing, Rio please explain :( BIttorent is a client you need to download files like programs, games, music, movies...almost anything you can think of. It's kind of frowned upon by your service provider, and companies though..

DragonFury 3,019
My ISP cares more about their customers than they do the IP of massive multinational conglomerates. They don't track what their customers use their connection for.
