I really wanted to date someone this semester and my dumb ass decided to go for the one easier to approach (let's call her Yebin) rather than the one I liked/lusted more (we'll call her Cathy). Currently I'm seeing Yebin. We've been on a couple of dates so far (I'd say about 8 dates) but I don't think it'll work out bc her personality is really bland and I still really like Cathy. I keep thinking about Cathy and it's just not a good situation! Yebin and I aren't an established couple just yet so I guess it might be easier to let her go than I think it is but I don't want it to be awkward between us in class, especially since she's the class tutor Please offer advice? It'll be awkward, sure, but remaining friends is not as impossible as people make it out to be. Especially since I'm pretty sure y'all are both pretty young. It'll be uncomfortable for a while and honestly don't try to be her friend for the time being because that's just not how it works after a break up, especially since it sounds like you're trying to go after another girl in the same class.
