Do you think that people who are going to die should be informed about their condition?

Or should the severity of their illness be kept a secret?

If you were in this place, what would you do?

What would you rather have happen to you?

Is ignorance really bliss?

I know everyone is fed up with these topics, but please bear with me on this one. I need people's opinions and I'd be grateful if you helped ^^

Of course they should be told. I think it's important for them to know the severity of their situation so they can get their affairs in order and break it to their family (if they want to).

What if everyone (including the family) but them knows but doesn't say anything?

That's fucked up imo. People with terminal conditions deserve to know about their situation so that they can get everything together (their will and shit like that) and I feel that if you know that someone is dying but don't tell them then they're going to be living the remainder of their life with false hope that they're going to get better.

I can't imagine a circumstance where the person who's sick isn't already aware of it. Maybe in cases of minor children, if the parents are told first? I've never been in that situation, so I'm not sure. Either way, I expect either the parents are coached on how to explain it to their kid or a doctor is there to explain it while the family just offers comfort.

But yes. Someone who's terminally ill deserves to know the truth. The people closest to them also deserve to know, when the person who's ill is ready to tell them, because they also should have time to come to terms with it.

Ummmmm yes especially when it comes down to I wanna do this before I die and the family. They would have to start putting together their will and spending time with their families.

They need to know so that they can prepare their will

It's probably the attorney genes in me talking, but you're actually supposed to do that as soon as you have any assets, in case you suddenly get killed. But pretty much everyone in my family drew up a will or similar document years before their death.

....I should probably walk the walk if I'm gonna talk the talk, myself, though XD

My friend's grandma is dying from lung cancer. She only has like 5 months left but she doesn't know. Everyone is keeping it from her... I have mixed feelings about it... Personally, I would rather not know... But then again knowing gives me a chance to do things I wanted to do at a faster pace....

Idk but I wouldn't keep if from someone else that they were dying ...
