The KBS 2TV drama "Descendants of the Sun" set another record.

 

According to Nielsen Korea, the eighth episode of "Descendants of the Sun" rated 28.8%. This is 0.5% more than the previous episode.

 

It looks like we're going to have to wait for it to break through 30%.

 

Meanwhile, SBS drama "Please Come Back, Mister" rated 4.0% and MBC "Goodbye Mr. Black" rated 3.9%.

YAMD was a daily drama (think soap operas) and those tend to have higher ratings, there are countless daily dramas that reached YAMD's highest rated episode, what set it apart though, was how consistent those ratings were. Its average rating is probably among the highest in Korean Television and the reason it got the "National Drama" title. Now BOF, was a prime time drama and it was pretty much a phenomenon back then so for DotS to reach those ratings (in this day and age of depressed numbers) it's mind blowing.

I remember reading 10 highest rated drama, the highest have 60 percent or something.... its crazy lol, the latest that got 40 (or 50?) percent is The Moon That Embrace The Sun right?
