“Descendants of the Sun� Actors Pick Their Favorite Scenes From the Drama

As “Descendants of the Sun†moves into its second half amidst high viewer ratings and explosive popularity, several scenes are already receiving particular attention from fans.

Lead actress Song Hye Kyo picked a scene from the very first episode. “There are a lot of parodies of this now,†she said. “But I have to pick the line, ‘If you’re a doctor, you must not have a boyfriend. Because you’re busy.’â€

 

 

 

 

This line was said by Song Joong Ki to Song Hye Kyo when they met in the hospital. Song Hye Kyo then retorted, “If you’re a soldier, you must not have a girlfriend. Because you’re tough.â€

 

“When we filmed this scene, we got goosebumps,†Song Hye Kyo shared. “But it’s a line that really shows what the two characters are like.â€

 

Kim Ji Won also chose a scene from the first episode. “I like the scene where my character tells Jin Goo, ‘Stop right there.’ I think the line highlights their different ranks in the army. It was a cool line, and I thought the scene was sexy when I watched it.â€

 

Meanwhile, Jin Goo talked about the scenes he filmed with Kang Shin Il. “More scenes between Kang Shin Il and I will be coming out in the future. I like that my character is fighting alone without Myung Joo [Kim Ji Won’s character]’s knowledge.â€

 

 

 

 

“When I read the script, I thought that the line, ‘Is that an order?’ was really cool,†Jin Goo continued. The line comes from a scene when Jin Goo meets his commanding officer in a restaurant and the officer orders him to stay away from his daughter.

 

“He must have so many questions but in the end, ‘Is that an order?’ is all he can say,†Jin Goo said. “I thought that it sounded so empty, frustrated, and sad.â€

 

 

 

 

Finally Song Joong Ki picked the scene where he tells Song Hye Kyo, “Dr. Kang, please leave it alone.†“I could have said ‘Leave me alone,’ or ‘Go away,’ but the formal words made it a more memorable line,†he said.

Hands down the best like was when she asked him if he wanted a sip of wine after she'd just taken a sip and he said, "There are other ways to do that," or something. ShiJin got game.
