Anyone ever had 2nd degree burn?

Recommended Posts

Few days ago I burned the middle part, near the knuckle of my middle finger of my left hand from a very hot mug when trying to make mug bread pudding in microwave :rlytearpls:

it blistered and the skin rise so it's 2nd degree burn not 1st degree and i read online the scar will be permanent. :rlytearpls:

and im kinda proud of myself for treating the burn my self and right now it seems to be healing properly and no bleeding whatsoever even tho im no expert :ahmagah:

have you ever suffered a minor 2nd degree burn and how do you treat the scar? like how do you flatten it?

I don't remember much but when I was little I stuck my hand onto the fireplace glass to try to save a bird, after that my hand swelled up a lot, I just remember it being painful and popping it when I was trying to hide from people. It left no scar though.

And I guess I got a 2nd or maybe 3rd degree burn when my friend stuck some metal prongs into the hot flame on the bunsen burner then put it on top of my hand. There was kind of a snap sound and my skin just split where she put it lol. It swelled up a little after and there was a mark for ages but it's been like 5 years and I can't see any mark anymore.

My sister had it on her left foot..at first it was only really red and swollen, but later the skin was becoming creased, and we took her to ER because it was painful ..they treated her with many ointments and cortisone..they made a really tight bandage too, which had to be changed after a while..she took it off completely after a month i think.

omg those sounds super painful and horrifying :omg:

Don't peel it off or pop it. Just wait for it to dry naturally. But my grandma used tomato last time

hmm  thats what i thinking of doing, keep putting aloe gel and let it dry up...

yes! i suffered from the second degree burn. it was while i was cooking, i put my pinky finger in hot oil accidentally. The pain was very bad, i used ice to ease the pain..then i put toothpaste.. that really helped a lot. my burned part swelled up and now it is 98% healed. it has been 2-3 months now. it's still not completely headed ..the skin is still coming. i don't have any scars though. Take care :)

I believe my sister got her finger burned with an iron when she was almost a baby I guess it was something like what you described and she still has that scar although it has faded away with the years. So I think you're gonna be fine but you could use some cream or something if it hurts you.
