Hyomin recently finished the showcase for her first mini album Sketch. Here's my review, I'll try to keep it short!

Gold (title track):

The showcased opened with this track which sounds like something you might hear from SIA, SHINee or f(x) (without the rapping). Hyomin, looking very nervous struggled with the English pronunciation and some of the passages of the song, which she later apologized for. Anyway, parts of the studio audio was also played at the showcase and it's a certified bop. Sadly it doesn't seem like it'll get a music video or get promoted though.

Sketch (title track) (promoted):
This midtempo song is very sensual and more importantly a lot better than her solo debut. The music video is beautiful and a bit risque and the performance is impressive and sensual, perhaps best explained as a cross between Gain and Hyosung.

Road trip:

This is perhaps the best track on the album! It's very summery and catchy, and it slightly reminds me of NS Yoon-G.

Still (composed and written by Hyomin and written by Junhyung):

A sentimental ballad, it has a very pretty chorus. It makes me nostalgic  :rlytearpls:

Stay with me:

Probably best described as a mid-tempo ballad, it is a positive song that conveys a lot of hope for the future. Another fave from this album, I loved it from the first listen.

Album rating: 4.5/5 - From what I've heard it's an excellent midtempo album that is put together with thought and care. The songs blend together well and seem like they will only keep growing on you as opposed to making you tire of them, like might have been the case if it was an album made up of only uptempo dance tracks. It's easily the best solo album by a T-ara member so far and is up there with the best solo kpop albums imo.

Overall showcase:

Hyomin seemed very nervous during the first half and looked like she wanted to disappear into the wall when the MC asked her about her dating rumours (she said there were no truth to them) but apart from the first performance she did very well. She still seemed a bit new to standing on stage without her group members but her inexperience was also very cute.

On the 17th so in 1 hour 30 minutes! (Unless it's released at noon but I doubt it)

I won't be online when it drops tho

I hope it drops tonight because I am dying to watch the m/v and everything tbh  :rlytearpls:

GOLD sounds damn good. I do wish she will perform this song on music show.

She said its two tittle track, big chances she will perform both. I want all being perform lol what greedy I am. Cant stand other song being wasted.
