I really dislike it. She called us out of the blue yesterday saying "the lord told me to go talk to you guys." Like, wtf, she just invited herself over. And all she does is judge us and tell us how we are living wrong. The thing that gets me is WE DON'T EVEN GO TO HER CHURCH! We haven't been in YEARS. And the crap part is, we can't even tell her to stay home cause "The Lord" told her to come.

 

And then when she comes it so horrible cause she just side eyes me the whole time. She really dislikes my "lifestyle choices" aka how I was born and who I love   )

Also @Des My family is all church goers. My mom and I went a couple weeks ago. We kinda just go on holidays. But not always. But anyway, we had a preacher like that. If we missed a week or two he'd show up, uninvited, unannounced, and tell us what we're doing wrong and more or less tell us how bad we are for not going to church every week. But he quit because we all basically said "we don't like you" and now we have a man who's actually related to us. And (gonna get ironic here) he's the best preacher ever. I'm so glad we have him I love listening to him. And the best part, he doesn't put people down because they're different. He has tattoos and (I think) he has a few friends that are gay. But he doesn't talk about them (obviously.)

I can't lol. She has known our family for FOREVER. And is really close to my grandma so its hard to turn her down cause then we'd have to hear from grams. My parents are just nice people.

Yeh, I agree she should know better when visiting (she made my dad REALLY sad and depressed this visit  ). But its hard to say no when someone comes claiming a "mission from God." My family is very religious.

Lucky its never happened to you then lol. I pretty much just lock myself in my room and don't come out until she leaves.

I dont think he's really trying to fit in, we have a very diverse group of ppl here at this job unlike the other on i work at, it really isnt an issue of fitting in because everyone is very super friendly here, mostly because its a kids center, but if it is, he's not succeeding because of that laugh....

 

 

 

not fit in cause of where he is form but because he is new and trying to mesh with the peeps who have been there already. Laughing at jokes to let them know he likes them stuff like that.

Omg, how many of you have Instagram? I use it to follow people like Amber, Taeyeon, Hyoyeon, Krystal blah blah, but I follow Chan Than San, and this Thai couple, and Rene Mayo. My point is OMG the comments on some of these photos!! One of the guys in the couple posted a picture of what looked like him putting on makeup, maybe BB Cream, and omg the comments, I could cry. Why comment if you don't like it? Like, what do you gain from that?

 

I don't have one (cause the people I would follow would just have the same pics uploaded here lol). I didn't know people could comment on instagram pics. People have no life and like to focus their attention on things they hate just to make themselves feel better not realizing how stupid and a waste of time that is. People just like to piss others off any way they can.

tbh i have a lot of issues with religion but especially christianity. i have had too many negative experiences with it so i have come to resent it. sure i don't care if other people are religious but i still resent it. you see my grandma used to be the only religious person in my family. we went to church a handful of times growing up but that was it. my mother never talked bad about gay people. heck we used to watch the show degrassi together with each other when i was younger and that had gay characters on it. then i came out to my mother.. not too long after my mother rediscovered her faith and now she goes to an ultra conservative church and has become way more political. my aunt and i discussed a few times about it that basically my coming out was the reason my ma became religious. and it is sad really. it's sad that religion has destroyed my relationship with her. i mean she compared my coming out to the death of my sister for gawd's sake, basically that she has lost another kid

 

 

O wow! That is truly awful to feel like your coming out kick started this attitude in your mom.

I hate that some people have such harsh reactions. A friend of mine, his mom just started crying and telling him he is going to hell. Religion in many ways can help people (at least in my experience) but the extreme, and alot of times rigid, views that come with it can be so damaging. People get so caught up in what they think and believe that they forget we are all humans and we should love and be considerate of one another. Like Macklemore said in his song "whichever God you believe in, we come from the same one." I hate that people can't see past their own personal things and see that they are hurting others.

i've had probably ten or more sit down discussions with my family about these sort of things with probably the last one being the most serious. there was a period for three years where i had depression, self-injured, and was suicidal. it was a combination of issues that led to it but my family's attitude towards me played a big role in it. eventually i got scared of myself and wanted to really get better so i broke down and had a heart to heart with my grandma. i even shared a suicide letter i had wrote with her and basically explained everything i was feeling. it went right over her head and i don't think she even took it seriously. i even showed her my self-injury scars to her. i know she discussed it with my mother. both never talked about it again. both never said.. oh maybe we should get you help. (but then again my mother knew about my self-injury issues even before i had the discussion with my grandma and she ignored it too) you would think they would have saw how much they have hurt me but they didn't. i basically had to get my shit together myself and pull myself out of my depression and self-injury without any support. if they didn't take that to heart then idk what will.

I've had some fantastic experiences at the beach 

Though I might go to Galveston and hang out on the strand. (like a cute old fashioned shopping center thing, all the places are old factories and things, you should google it it looks cool some of the places are still the original places, such as my personal favorite, hendley market)
