Hey guys, I went to Cuba last week and my mom basically came out.

It's only awkward if you make it awkward. It seems that you don't want anything bad to come out of your mother's outing, so that's a good sign. Just find a way to reassure her that you're fine with it. Treat her the same way you did before. Any sign of difference can tell her that you may have some type of funny feeling about the situation and we don't want her feeling that way. Just be happy that she has decided to trust her family with something which I'm sure was pretty hard for her to do.

Maybe you can feel her be appreciated by looking up local Gay Pride Parades or other gay related events in your local area and encouraging her to go to those places.

She knows that deep down I'm okay with it. My godmother started to date a female a few years ago, it didn't really change our relationship. 

Plus we went to Pride together last year, she knows I'm cool with gay people. 

She's worried more about her mother, who is a serious Christian. . . she said her mom would disown her if she ever found out...
