I went through something like that but the opposite direction..

 

My whole coming out process was quite a long and complicated story. I came out as a lesbian in high school. I was your standard butch lesbian. I always had gender issues growing up but I didn't know there was such a thing as being trans until college and things just clicked and I was like oh. Then after I came to grips with the whole trans thing and accepted myself and started taking active steps in changing my gender that is when I realized my sexuality started changing and I found myself being attracted to guys. I'm still not used to it even though it has been a few years. I've only been in long term relationships with women so far.

 

 

I hope this doesn't come off rude or stupid, but im confused.

Hahah not rude. It can be a bit confusing.

 

Actually I prefer the term pansexual male. If anything I have learned to just go with the flow and like who I like without worrying about things like gender. I've only really dated girls so far but I have done sexual stuff with guys before. I just haven't been in a long term relationship with one yet. The whole trans thing can make dating a bit harder.

That's interesting! I've yet to meet any transsexual people so i'm not as knowledgeable about certain things.

 

I like that mindset of just going with the flow and being with someone you like regardless of gender.

Question! Scenario: You are in a relationship with the same sex and things are going very well between you and your partner. There is just one problem, your partner isn't openly gay, bi, lesbian etc. When you come around their family and friends things are completely different and even at times walking while holding hands becomes an issue. They say they will come out soon but it feels as if they will not. How long would you wait for that person to come out? How would you go about approaching your partner about it also expressing your feelings towards it?

I've been in this situation. I really hated it cause when someone is in the closet every little thing they maximize to not try to show to their family. I would be with her and just try to fix her clothing or take something out her hair and she'd get all upset about it worrying if people saw and if they knew. It puts a strain on a relationship. I wouldn't put any pressure on someone cause coming out is something they have to be prepared for but I couldn't last long in the relationship with the awkwardness of not being able to be affectionate towards them because they are hiding this side of them.

Well, he's really bad into drugs. So I'd say if something happened to him it'd be that. But he really doesn't care what people think of him. My family has said that they don't love him any less, but they don't want to see it. I would never ever live a double life. I am still attracted to girls, so it wouldn't be like I was living a double life.

 

I understand that you are still attracted to girls but if you were to just completely fall head over heels for a guy would you still try to be with a girl just for "normalcy" sake?

No I wouldn't. I still wouldn't come out to my family. But I'd never be able to fake a relationship. Not telling my family something, and lying to them are two different things you know?

Yea I know lol. It's just hard to even comprehend how my family would act when I know they won't be supportive and disown me. And even if I did come out, he wouldn't be allowed to come around anyway.

 

yeh I get it. I was that way when living with my grandparents a few years ago. My gramps straight out said to me "if you told me you are gay im going to kick you out of the house" (which means he knew but was just being a douche)

They are still the type of out of sight out of mind people (pretty much as long as im not checking out a girl or kissing in front of them they are gonna act as if they don't know).

 

Lucky for me my mom is really open (shes the one who asked me straight out and was pretty chill when I told her the truth. Of course I think my mom was a bit bi-curious back in her college days so that plays a part lol)

Damn. Talk about peer pressure and watch the company you keep! Maybe your mom will come around one day. I don't see the reason why people hate others for their sexual preference. Its not harming anyone else. I think the reason why some people have trouble accepting that their loved ones are gay, lesbian, bi, trans, etc is because they ;painted a picture and ideal image of their loved ones lives. They expect them to be a certain way, so when its not what they want it to, especially when its a situation thats taboo with society, its drastically hard for them to handle.

I don't understand what me liking females has ANYTHING to do with someone else who has never met me and will never be affected by me in any way.

And I think that is exactly what it is. People see this white fence and grandkids and husband who does this and talk about sports with the dad while the wife helps the mom cook sunday dinner in the kitchen blah blah, and then all of their dreams are ruined when their child is at a place where they know that dream isn't going to come true so they get upset not realizing they are holding their loved ones back from their own happiness.

I've seen worse lol. There was the one guy who has on 6 inch patented leather pumps, fish net stockings, black satin panties, with a half jacket that had on feathers walking to the Staten island ferry in new york city during the month of January. That was all he had on. I understand if people want to be dressed in drag but damn at all times too lol  -_-
