TEE!! i just watched episode 6 of "she is wow"

 

jo ara is SO ANNOYING, every word that comes out of her mouth is a lie. i feel bad for the naïve general and his sweet, honest wife. i also feel really bad for the way she treats sunggi. even her brother is almost better than her. i actually am rooting for the cleaning lady's "plot."

 

on the other side, i'm really starting to dislike jungha, too. he is not good enough for sunggi with all his flipflopping and lying and being so dumb about his son despite sunggi's perfect analysis.

not really sure what the plot is, tbh. basically bitchy family members lying and not being straightforward and backstabbing each other. the actress mom is "hot" but aging and desperate for media attention. the dad is a respected announcer who is secretly gay and forced into running for politics.

i just saw some list for the supposed top 100 greatest gay movies according to thebacklot.com and unfortunately Love of Siam is not present (ide). however, a couple movies caught my eye for various reasons

i'm assuming every gay here who enjoys movies has already seen the likes of Shelter and Summer Storm, so i won't even bother linking the trailers. also, as much as i think Mysterious Skin was an amazing movie, it's difficult to recommend it over how disturbing it was ;^; it was great, though...

i tend to forget it because it's not really a "coming out" type movie and the fact that it's "gay" is less important to the story (even though everything he does is for the sake of being in love with a man, lol)

 

i was really surprised when one of my cousins and his girlfriend recommended it to another family member one day (they saw it because king's speech was sold out). i'm from texas, and though my family is pretty liberal for the most part, i didn't really know at the time how they felt about homosexuality.

mythie, what is it that turns you off to gays? is it that there's often either too much inhibition or too little? is it that in a society where LGBT issues is a major topic being gay takes over too much of one's identity? are gays around you too promiscuous?

i had a "girlfriend" for like two weeks. even though we went to the same high school, we never even really hung out together or went on a date, actually. just chatted on AIM, lol.

I went through something like that but the opposite direction..

 

My whole coming out process was quite a long and complicated story. I came out as a lesbian in high school. I was your standard butch lesbian. I always had gender issues growing up but I didn't know there was such a thing as being trans until college and things just clicked and I was like oh. Then after I came to grips with the whole trans thing and accepted myself and started taking active steps in changing my gender that is when I realized my sexuality started changing and I found myself being attracted to guys. I'm still not used to it even though it has been a few years. I've only been in long term relationships with women so far.

Question! Scenario: You are in a relationship with the same sex and things are going very well between you and your partner. There is just one problem, your partner isn't openly gay, bi, lesbian etc. When you come around their family and friends things are completely different and even at times walking while holding hands becomes an issue. They say they will come out soon but it feels as if they will not. How long would you wait for that person to come out?

well, it would be reasonable that they wouldn't want to come out until they knew we were in a stable relationship... so i would give them a few months. but it would still be edgy.

 

though it also depends on where i am and family and the amount of prying they do into their son's life. if i'm in japan (where i'll be for a year or so) and dating a japanese man, i may be even more lenient because coming out is less of a thing and more difficult in that cultural context... though if it's an american guy i would be more strict.

 

and anyway, i don't really like to do a lot of skinship in public, either, so...
