Zendaya gets body shamed for her Kids' Choice Awards look and has something to say about it

Klausner, who created and stars in the Hulu series, Difficult People, retweeted a photo of Zendaya accepting her award, calling the actress, a "thinspo model for your impressionable tweens." Yikes.

Sunday morning, Klausner responded to Zendaya's tweet, saying, "Can't wait."

"I will never stop criticizing celebs who perpetuate dangerous beauty standards for a generation of girls who grow up thinking they're fat," Klausner continued on Twitter. "I'm concerned with the generation of girls who aspire to look like Zendaya. I do not worry about Zendaya's health or care whether she eats."

Klausner went on to respond to various Zendaya fans and other Twitters users. After way too many tweets to mention, Klauser finally said, "For those who have spoken to me respectfully about post-racialist bias.... I won't apologize, non-apologize, delete tweets, backpedal or refuse to own my s***. BUT- I will be more thoughtful going forward. /end."

Zendaya has yet to post any further response to Klausner, but honestly, we wouldn't mind reading that educational paragraph! Zendaya has already proved she is a smart young woman. Plus, body shaming is never OK.

Can someone please explain this to me? On one hand she's saying that she won't stop criticizing celebs like Zendaya but yet on the other hand she claims she doesn't care about Zendaya's health or care what she eats. Yet she called her out on it. Zendaya has never (to my knowledge) said anything about her body or anyone else's. Let her live her life.

Zendaya is grown and can do what she wants, but she needs to be aware that her fanbase is composed of impressionable children, so in reality, she can't do what she wants.

If it's her body then yes she can. She can eat how she wants. No one has the right to tell her otherwise. What are ya'll the dinner police?

Zendaya's fanbase is mainly tweens in their puberty and growing phase i mean sure she's already an adult but her fanbase do not need to follow every single thing she does...

She has no adult fans, so it's not the same. If she was Cate Blanchett, it would be an entirely different story.

This woman is a nobody and is feeding off the attention.

She's always been a skinny minnie though. She might be slightly smaller but the comment is out of left field.

I'm confused, all Zendaya did was show up after being invited to the Kids Choice Awards. Why does a 19 year old girl deserve to be hated on by a much older woman because of her body? I didn't know skinny people existing is considered an offence and a bad influence.

I don't know her.

Maybe because the older woman has kids who are fans and doesn't want her children and their friends having her as a role model?

People need to stop claiming that skinny = unhealthy

Zendaya has always been skinny and tall. She looks a little skinnier but that doesnt mean she is teaching young girls how to starve themselfs. What kind of mind is that? She doesn't look anorexic or smth. Overreacting much?

So this is how she looked...

That's not necessarily unhealthy at all, it's a normal weight...

She's obviously very thin, but some people are just built like that. Body shaming at any size is wrong! Obviously, it is concerning if someones body weight changes drastically over a relatively short period of time (whether they are gaining or losing) but at the end of the day, it really is not the publics concern because there is no way to judge by photographs and videos exactly what is going on unless there are CLEAR signs of an issue. Being skinny isn't one of them -.-

Why do I have to repeat myself... What's wrong with Zendaya being a role model for children? I mean, what did she do wrong?

She wore a modest dress and turned up to an event she was invited to. If people are going to rag on skinny women for being a bad influence (which is already a huge ???), then Zendaya also looks like she's healthy, you can't see her bones or anything.

Well this woman doesn't think like you do...

Then she should teach her own kids that Zendaya is not a "good" role model and that's it?

She can also speak out on it on Twitter, just like everyone else...

And so just because she has a different opinion, that doesn't mean she's wrong?

Lol you cannot seriously be defending an older woman trying to hate on a 19 year old girl for existing and turning up to an event.

If her children read her mom's advices on twitter then yeah, why not lmao

Is okay to say your opinion whatever you want to say it, but calling someone "unhealthy skinny" indirectly or even worse, "anorexic" just because she is skinnier than you, is not "just speak out like everyone else"
