How would you feel if....

companies made a set list of rules and guidelines you have to follow in order to be considered a part of the fandom?

Although the idea is improbable, I think it'd kinda calm some fans down, honestly. Obviously it's not like they can punish you, but it'd be like a social judgement thing. Like if you break any of the laws you're a FAKE FAN! ANTI FAN!

Some rules I think would be included

  1. Don't wish harm on the members' health or career
  2. Don't slander the group/company name with false rumors
  3. Knock on people's doors to tell others about the group
  4. Represent the group in some way such as clothing, merch, or tattoos
  5. Attend concerts when group is in your area
  6. Vote for group for all nominations
  7. Know all facts about group

"Apart of the fandom" means you're not a part of it. English is funny  :derp:

Anyway, some of those are already unwritten rules, and some of them would be unfair to people. Like, some people can't afford to attend concerts, some people's stalker prowess isn't strong enough to know all fax, some people don't want to be treated like the Jehovah's Witnesses of Kpop, etc...

By having rules that are set by the company for fans to be considered a 'true' fan would cause fans to be more crazy in my opinion. A lot of the fans stress go crazy trying to find out ways to attend all concerts, get all the merch, etc. If a company was to say that you HAVE to do these things to be considered an actual fan, then a lot these fans will probably have a mental break down.

All of these should be a given except 3. Definitely 1, 2, 5, 6.

That would be pretty strange, although some rules should just be common sense like numbers 1, 2 & 3. Some of the rules would be hard to obey such as attending concerts and wearing/buying merch (for uk fans at least anyway). I think companies should have rules to stop some fans getting too crazy.

I don't consider myself a part of any fandom, but if I did, I know I would be kicked out.

3. I'm not knocking on anyone's door

4. Hell no

5. Depends on if the money is right or if someone else I like more is going to be having a concert soon after because if so, I ain't goin'

6. Don't got time for all that

7. I don't care that much

Not gonna happen.. the companies encourage crazy fan behaviour because it translates into obsession, and obsession translates into merch purchases.

They should definitely think about enforcing 1 and 2, and combining them to say: DO NOT HARM the group physically and mentally. All these sasaengs inposing on basic human rights are incredible..

And how would the company exclude someone from the fandom if they're not following the rules? It's not like they can ban them from tv shows, concerts, the Internet, etc. They wouldn't even know which fans are the ones breaking the rules. People can post shitty comments about an artist on the Internet and then go to their fansign event the next day and act like they're their biggest fan and no one would know it's the same person.

Lol no

The companies are off their rocker if they take their groups so seriously

3. Knock on people's doors to tell others about the group

"Hello, sir/ma'am. Have you accepted our lord and savior G-Dragon into your life? Would you like to take the time to learn about the nine goddesses who have ascended the planes of music?"
