It's been told many times that the hype of kpop replaced by LDH acts, but there's still dedicated fandom, that don't see now kpop in a position the way it used to be, instead a "better replacement" for it.

Why would they? There's no connection between K-pop's fall and LDH's rise. Their groups (outside of EXILE) didn't really even have well-recieved songs until the later half of 2013, two years after the end of the boom.

^THIS!

IMO, since LDH and Kpop groups have kind of nearly similar styles don't you think the Japanese kpop fans would be inclined to like LDH acts instead?

Someone on Arama said there are a bunch of Japanese KPop fans complaining on the new 3JSB about how LDH has replaced KPop.

3JSB's "Hanabi" came out in August 2012, and resulted in them debuting on Kohaku that year. But even before that, in 2011, they had 3 songs that came out that year go Gold digitally that year.

And E-girls had 2 certified songs by late 2013. "Follow Me" came out in August 2012 and was Gold in January 2013. It was Platinum in November 2013. And "Gomennasai no Kissing You" came out in September 2013 and was Gold in November 2013. This resulted in them debuting on Kohaku in 2013.

GENERATIONS' "Love You More" came out in May 2013 and was Gold by that November.

The idea that they didn't have well-received songs until the later half of 2013 just isn't true. Their actual success falls in line with the narrative of the LDH acts replacing KPop, which is true.

Interesting. What would make a Korean fan like LDH acts more than Kpop acts?

I was kind of exaggerating, but i don't think it really has anything to do with anything korean/japanese. I dont like kpop nor jpop, but i dont like any pop music in general. I actually mainly listen to metal, but for some reason I really like LDH. I can't describe why.

My k-pop fan friends are really don't like Exile, Sandaime, Generations, E-girls...because "they are Exile and I don't want to lestening and seeing them. They are ugly" - what the said to me.

I don't understand why, but this is true... And I can't to urge them to see some MVs of only listen any song. They don´t want. Because "this is Exile".

But if they don't know that it is Exile, they listen it normally....

Why....

It's call inferiority complex aka insecurity toward their own fav.

I love steak and X steak is the best, I don't know what steak that is, it smells good but I will not eat it because it's not better, it cannot be.

Shielding, finding an excuse for themselves to not getting too involve in things that are rivals to what they love, fearing the potential of actually having to admit something else is just as good, or worse, better.

Most Kpop fans are still teens/early twenties, it's a very delicate time.

Is it about Japanese KPOP fans comments in 3JSB new PV?

About Japanese KPOP fans hate comments in Sandaime PV, someone said this on Arama:

"The giants in the jpop business basically killed off mainstream hip hop and funk and indoctrinated their fans to thinking anything with that kind of sound is kpop."

Is it true?

Cz tbh I feel there's no new mainstream Japanese acts/groups with western influenced music (r&b, hip hop, edm, etc) after EXILE - before Sandaime. And the void was replaced by KPOP.

I have seen the opposite. I have seen LDH fans bashing Kpop on YouTube comment sections and I remember 1 or 2 of them were Korean though one of them is a Kpop fan too.

I disagree. I see some kpop fans starts saying they copied blah blah on the videos and that's when they only bash them to protect their biases. Same as Kpop fans who would start bashing others to protect their biases.

I wouldn't say funk was killed off since it's actually having a revival right now in Japanese music. But yes, I would say that things like hip hop and EDM are more foreign. That kind of music just isn't really the trend in Japan. It works with certain acts, but that's more because of those acts, rather than the actual music.

The sales history you've just posted is very much appreciated, thank you!

I've witnessed both scenarios. I've seen LDH fans saying Kpop is stupid and mediocre, as well as Kpop fans saying "X is like BAP/Big Bang/whatever Kpop act they follow at the moment".

I dont know but most of the Kpop fans I see like Sandaime J Soul Brothers more than other boy bands in jpop.

I'm under the same impression as well. E-Girls, Sandaime, GENERATIONS.... are right up the alley of most Kpop fans. I've seen less Kpop fans who like EXILE, though.

I don't know how much I agree with that comment, but it's interesting, to be honest.

Is RYUSEI the first EDM song from Japanese act that known by general Japanese public?

Is KPOP made EDM and Hip Hop became mainstream in Japanese public?

There's many Japanese big acts who did EDM and Hip Hop before RYUSEI, no? Especially from AVEX, like Namie, m-flo, EXILE, etc.

Are all of their EDM and Hip Hop songs not known by general public, that made some people refer those genre as KPOP, while some of those KPOP songs also made by same Japanese producers?

Bcs since RYUSEI boom, some Japanese KPOP fans come in Sandaime PV and said that Sandaime copy KPOP. Like in "Feel So Alive", there's J-KPOP fans who said that it sounds KPOPish, while for me it just sounds like typical EXILE songs, with typical Sandaime catchy chorus.

So, is for general Japanese public, there's no EDM and Hip Hop genre in Japan before KPOP boom?

And for them, Sandaime is the first Japanese act that do those genre?

Or it's only opinion from J-KPOP fans, who too focused on KPOP and not listening anything beside it, whether from local acts or western acts?

Or it's just typical fanwar because J-KPOP fans feel afraid if their favorite KPOP acts will be insecure by Sandaime rising?

*Sorry for the terrible English :)

R.Y.U.S.E.I. isn't the first EDM song made by a popular Japanese act known by the public.

KPop didn't make EDM and hip hop known to the Japanese public. It's just that those styles of music aren't really the trend in Japan, and they're very much associated with KPop. That is why the LDH acts are by extension associated with KPop.

Hip hop was more popular in Japan years ago, but not anymore. EDM isn't really popular. Only a few well known Japanese acts have success with it, mainly the LDH acts and Namie. But they're successful with it because of who they are rather than the music. Other people have tried EDM and flopped because they don't have the same name value.

LDH has taken the place for contemporary dance pop that KPop once held.

it's kinda true, but not always. I have even seen one bashing Koreans as well by saying Korean women are ugly and calling Kpop idols dog eaters I think.
