Article: 'Descendants of the Sun' surpasses 'Stars' in just 6 episodes... 28.5%

Source: OSEN via Naver

1. [+9,014, -385] Such a well made drama ã…Žã…Ž

2. [+6,687, -224] That last picture is a battle of who's the prettiest..

3. [+5,708, -219] Viewer ratings daebak~ Yoo Shin Jin makes my heart stop!

4. [+5,510, -174] So glad it's not some obvious love triangle. The two couples show different ways to love and their yearning for each other is subtle but still strong.

5. [+1,032, -59] The way they stared at each other at the end, the way they act with their eyes is the best!

Article: 'Descendants of the Sun' Onew, his acting is quite good

Source: OSEN via Nate

1. [+424, -48] He's better than Daniel and that Eurasian woman ã…‹ã…‹ But this scene made me feel so embarrassed I wanted them to stop. I knew a scene like this would be thrown in to give insight into his character of wanting to become a true doctor but it still made me embarrassed ã…‹ã…‹

2. [+380, -61] He's better than I thought ã…‹

3. [+41, -1] I didn't think that the scene required that much emotion... There are so many other people who are injured and in need of attention and yet his character was sitting there crying with the other doctors and nurses... the scene itself was too over the top ã… ã… ã…

4. [+34, -6] He needs to sing an OST... he's got a unique vocal color and it'd be a shame if he didn't sing an OST for this.

5. [+34, -17] I thought he was just an idol who was acting all along but his sobbing scene yesterday made me change my mind. he's quite good!

6. [+28, -8] I thought it was a bit cringe and awkward ã…Žã…Ž

7. [+28, -15] Not really, he wasn't as good

8. [+25, -17] I don't think so; I watched this scene thinking viewers are going to be pissed about another idol being in the drama because it was so cringe and I could barely feel his emotions. Are there only SHINee fans in the comments here or something?;

Didn't Onew's character cry because he gave the yellow wrist band to the patient and then realized there were more severe damages to that person? I was under the impression he cried becausw

1. He feared he had miss diagnosted the other

2. He heared his wrong call might have killed the person

and 3. It was his first patient dying on him

People react differently. Under the stress of an eartquake when you lose a patient and you might think it is your fault..you could end up crying. There were far more dramatic doctors and rescuers in D-day. I found his crying quite natural and not cringe worthy. I expected laughing my ass of at him crying but I was quite focused on it.

The next episode has me on the edge. They were hinting at Captain being dead with the creepy there is a dead man here spoken by a soldier but i am sure it ain't one of the leads

I agree with the scene being a little over the top in the aspect that every damn other doctor in the area just looked on instead of leaving him to deal with it and go take care of the other patients (or at least just having one doctor stay around). I understand his emotional dilemma as a character and why he would react like that - he was just severely disillusioned by that death - but we don't necessarily need the whole cast looking on. There are more important things to do.

However, this is a drama, and I don't get why people choose to complain now when there have been at least 25 other unrealistic scenes so far, yet they choose to ignore that and gush over Song Joong Ki (which I can understand, mind you, but ... you know, double standards).

I'm glad most people don't seem to mind his acting per say tho. Sure there is criticism but it's in the minority, even the most upvoted comments on the most negatively commented article NB could find (let's not kid ourselves, we know NB) don't necessarily criticize his acting but the writing/directing of the scene. Th criticism has far less upvotes. So yeah, I can deal with this, if this is the most negative reaction there is I'm okay XD

Yeah, I think a lot of people missed that important detail. Like you could tell he was feeling pretty numb and thinking that he could save the patient, but it wasn't until Mo Yeon was about to announce the death time that reality set in for him.

ia. i mean, i thought the entire calamity scene was really well done (nice pacing and nice lead up), but of course there had to be tonnes or makjang moments during the disaster response. even with the song-song couple. i was like 'stop staring at each other and go save lives!!', 'it doesn't take 2 people to tie shoelace, go save lives!!" the whole time. that said, it is supposed to be a melodramatic romance drama, not medical-drama so i guess it's to be expected.

re: onew's acting, it is nb, so kinda expected. in the other naver articles, it's all praises for onew's acting with comments getting over 700-800+ upvotes so i won't pay any mind to these nate comments. plus, his scene apparently recorded the highest viewer rating so go onew!

I found his acting good and the character's reaction realistic, but what felt off was the fact that all the other doctor characters were standing along for what seemed like an eternity. I just got this sense of urgency "quick, there's other patients / victims to be rescued, don't just all stand there!"
