It seems like ethnic Korean Chinese idols would be a best-of-both-worlds situation for companies, as they could be easily marketed in both Korea and China. But I do know that in Japan, Koreans born there have Korean citizenship and have Korean nationality (either North or South), unless the Korean naturalizes and adopts a Japanese name. I know that in Taiwan there's Bii and Shi Shi who managed to gain a little bit of traction. Bii's released some Korean material, but I don't think that he's actively tried to break the Korean market.
