ETB5 4,512
I ask because my idea of a perfect wedding is composed of a very private reception, with only the closest of family members and friends which you consider almost like family. If I were to have my wedding (which won't happen anytime soon ), I would only want to be surrounded by people close to me, not by some family members with whom I do not have a good relationship. It would be very hypocritical of me to invite them, and I'm not like that. Nonetheless, I know they would be offended. Would you feel offended if you were not invited?? If you were to have the wedding, would you invite those family members??

Starlight 1,108
If I wasn't close to them or didn't like them then I wouldn't care and might even be glad they didn't invite me. If it was a relative I liked a lot and was close to though then I might feel sad.
nutella 6,108
no and I agree that weddings should be a private occasion. You want to share it with really close individuals not relatives that you barely talk to but feel obligated to invite. If they feel offended then they will get over it. ethereal 20,923
already happened to me before... one of my older cousins had like a small get together type wedding and she's closer to my mom so my parents were invited but not me....

VARSITY 3,838
I wouldn't feel offended if I wasn't invited. If it was my own sibling or my child then I would be hurt and try to fix things before the wedding but if it was some cousin then no. some people have morning weddings and then public receptions (for all the invited guest) and after that private receptions (for close family and friends) i wouldn't pass up an opportunity to get more gifts because i snubbed someone with an invite, but that's just me. loves 2,287
depends on who in my family tbh, is it smeone I think I am close too but than am not in the group of the choosen few.... yea I guess I would be on the other hand, there are parts in my family circle that are not really on speaking terms so I almost never got to see their offspring who are around my age... I don't expect an invation from them and I wouldn't invite them probably either cause even if they are family by blood I don't really consider them like family in any other way~

Jung Chaeyeon Perfect Girl 384
Only if they are close family, like siblings and parents... If it's an aunt/uncle/cousin, I would be happy, because wedding is just too social for me, I don't enjoy them. I actually have to go to my cousin's wedding in August *sigh*
TofuSsi 75
No, because if we are not close enough for them to feel obligated to invite me I likely would not have gone anyway.
