Virtually all male U.S. citizens and male immigrant non-citizens between the ages of 18 and 25 are required by law to have registered within 30 days of their 18th birthdays. It's called "Non-enforced conscription" which basically means that yes you have to register, but the draft would only be enforced in a time of crisis or if the nation has insufficient amounts of troops... which is clearly not the case since the U.S. has a big military. To be honest, I personally prefer this instead of a full blown conscription like that of South Korea, Cuba, Iran, etc. OP is lucky to not be born in the 70s or else you might have had to leave Australia Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
