current situation right now after 6 episodes: the girls is so popular among international fans + korea.

and what happen if they suddenly become so big after their debut as 11 members group and then of course if the group start become a trend then all the brands started to feel interested with them and offered them a cf deals + got a great result for their digital plus physical album for more than 150.000 albums and everything still continue for more than 1 year even the total of their result is higher than any girlgroup out there including twice gf and rv ? do you think mnet will still disband them knowing the fact that the group has potential to give them more money? and do you think their agency will let them go with mnet?

if they do super well, i can't imagine them disbanding the whole group, it would be such a waste. i originally thought once the mnet contract was over they would move the group to another agency who would manage the group, but i don't know.

If they're raking in that much then ofc their companies won't let them go with mnet lol they'll milk their own girls themselves

but what if the gp only wants that 11 group not individual....

same, i mean what if they bring so much money towards mnet, i'm sure they wont let go the girls.

i guess it depends on the contract that was signed by the agencies before they sent the girls away, or what they agree when they debut and when their promotion period is over... we'll just have to wait and see!!

i didnt read your thread bcs you usually makes some troll threads

Yeah :hurr:.

.if mnet gets all the share then where the original companies get their share? To the girls salary? It would be utterly injustice. They don't even get a salary in the show. Its like milking a cow without feeding it with grass.

These companies have paid to train them and send them off, they aren't going to waste their talents. Plus, all the little agencies are now put on the map as having talents. The entire purpose of this show was to give trainees exposure to later debut with their companies and make their new group more famous. "Stealing" the girls would defeat that purpose.

Nahh..the purpose of the show is to rekt money with a low a budget. This show only needs unpaid girls and cameras to rek money from sponsors. And they will not care for the produced group then proceed to season 2. Maybe giving them an album would test the waters if its clear.

hmmm if they do super, duper, so, so well maybe that group will become permanent and the profits will be split, ie if one girl from one company + mnet = would be divided in 12.

but i don't think they will do well to the point each company is willing to sacrifice their own future gg for the mnet group? ;;

Yeah, I'm curious about this possibilty too. If they become huge I think there's a chance of the group lasting more than a year, although it depends if all the companies will agree with it and how much money is involved.

They could actually sign with the company making the group after the year ends.

I think mnet wont have a choice. They will have a group with members from a lot of different agencies, their agencies will probably want to take them bc they will be really popular and make their own group so they will be the only ones to profit from it

Its a shame tbh. A group with Somi, Yoojung and Sejeong (and maybe Doyeon, Chungha and Pinky) should live forever

There is no way mnet have power to hijacked Somi from jyp or pinky and yoojung from pledis and fantagio who already had plan to debut. Same goes with other popular trainess who had a chances to make it in final cut. At best they will keep some and made graduation system and put any trainess in line for next line up.

i feel like this will only be a concern for members who make the top 11 not from major companies. No matter how big this girl group gets, I feel like JYP, Jelpi and PLEDIS will have a pretty easy job in getting their girls back because they have promising teams with huge fanbases ready for debut already (JYP's 2017 GG, Jelpi girls in general and PLEDIS' Ladyteen). Plus these girls will more likely want to work with a company that is more in line with them and willing to compromise their interests in concepts and songs unlike Mnet that forces things on them.

It's a bit iffy about the CUBE and DSP girls since their recent management has been meh.

But imagine you made top 11 from an unknown company like Chorokbamjuna or KConic or MJ. I feel like those girls will want to stay with Mnet should the group blow up since it feels safer. Other scenarios include the girls who get really popular from the show/get into Top 11 changing companies.

With how close Sohye got with Sejeong, I can see her jumping ship to Jellyfish since Jellyfish also has a strong acting management side plus she will have proven her girl group member marketability. Really talented girls from smaller companies like CHUNGCHUN MUSIC's Kang Sira, SS's Haein, MJ's Sua and 2able's Haeyoung will likely (and hopefully) change companies through this show. Sira has main vocal potentials that can fit the image of companies like LOEN, Woollim, Mystic etc. I can see her going to Mystic mainly because they are preparing a girl group and she is older and need to debut soon. Haein has leader vibes and is really stable and any of the top non big 3 companies like Cube, Woollim, Starship etc. can take her. Sua has strong stage charisma and killer dance moves and I can see her fitting in well with the PLEDIS girl group. Haeyoung also has uniquely pretty visuals and slay dance moves and a future with PLEDIS girls also seems great.

Bottomline though, it's all about money...  if it makes financial sense to continue, YCM and the agencies will get together an hammer out a deal.  Not MNet...  MNet is nothing more then a TV channel...  When we talk about agencies like JYP, Fantagio, Jellyfish, Cube, Pledis and girl groups, it seems as though we are treating it as gospel that they will debut these groups when they say they are and that these agencies will definitely use the Produce 101 trainees...

Perhaps, but as we all know, nothing is a sure thing...

Wikipedia may not be the most accurate source:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_South_Korean_idol_groups_(2010s)#2015

But if you just have to look at how many IDOL groups debuted in 2014, 28...  2015, 18...  this together with existing IDOL groups, how many really make money and how long did it take...  How many of the 18 do you remember, how many of the 28?

It's wishful thinking to imagine that JYP, Fantagio, Jellyfish, Pledis (you are also ignoring SM and YG) will not debut their groups strategically...   Not saying that the 11 won't disband after the contractual period and return to their respective agencies but things do change...  sure thing today, gone tomorrow...  such is the world...  It'll be interesting though to track the trainees who don't make the cut as to where they land up in the short to medium term...

As the saying goes, 'A Bird in Hand is worth Two in the Bush'

Simply opining again...   :derp:

Companies surely want their trainees back if they make it to the top 11 because they're already really popular. Perhaps they just don't permanently disband the final group and make them perform together every now and then.

Without a doubt, agencies whose trainees have made the final 11 will be hot properties...  To my knowledge, Produce 101 has broken new ground and it's going to be the first time where we're going to have the 'best of the best' trainees across a wide spectrum of agencies, albeit that JP, SM didn't send their trainees and likely there are other very talented trainees that weren't sent to Produce 101 for one reason or another...   Tough break to them...  The concept has worked to date, will it work overall, time will tell...

But if it does, it's a whole new different ball game...  It'll be interesting to see just what YCM does with the final 11 and how they'll stack against recent girl groups....
