Maybe he had bad memories with black hair or he had more success and happy times during the times his hair was dyed different colours.  I can't remember the Chinese/HK singer anymore.  My BF told me about a singer who likes his hair brown because it wasn't until he dyed it brown that he had a hit and continued his successful career (of course he's a good singer, just timing I guess?)
